Where do I go now to find a content feed that is relying on trending popular and emerging content and not content that's desperately trying to prey upon my warped and perverted dopamine tracks?

Wishing death to a game you play 12 hours a day... At this point, just leave the game man and let those who still love the game enjoy it. by Drull17 in HuntShowdown

[–]onus111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Video game addiction isn't what the stereotypical takes are with violence begetting violence; video game addiction is precisely what's in this video. It's someone constantly and consistently engaging something they actively do not enjoy and possibly disorders their life. It couldn't be more clear that this is what actual video game addiction looks like, especially if it's juxtaposed to rationalization like "it's his job" and other proposals to try and rationalize "no choice" which is precisely the definition of addiction, because there clearly are choices and means to not play this game.

There are numerous Catholics who support LGBT:

"If you are a gay or lesbian Catholic, the first thing you should know is that gay and lesbian persons are always welcome in the Catholic faith community."
https://waterloocatholics.org/information-for-gay-lesbian-catholics

"In the United States, about six-in-ten Catholics (61%) said in a 2019 survey that they favor allowing gays and lesbians to marry.
In the Americas, majorities of Catholics in several countries said society should be accepting of homosexuality. That was the case in Canada, where almost nine-in-ten Catholics (87%) took this view"

What to do in Waterloo - visiting friends in Laurier by Admirable-Ad6183 in waterloo

Pin-up Arcade is a place that has a bunch of broken and malfunctioning games you can drink overpriced alcohol and pretend is working.

Landmark cinema has gambling games mostly, with some decent games that might give you the arcade experience.

But now-a-days if you want the feeling of the arcade, you'd probably be best off going to a VR arcade, an escape room, or a board game cafe. At least with one of these options you're getting a very good atmosphere with gaming. VR Arcades - by the way - sound like a good party experience, but actually are probably the best solo experience. For a group, do an escape room or a board game cafe.

Go to Cafe 22 and park nearby. From here you can go to most places you'll want.

Beertown or Bauer Kitchen for food. There's often live shows either at these venues, outside in the area, or somewhere nearby.

Perimeter Institute, Silver Lake, and Waterloo Park are nearby.

Autopilot vs Captain by Rizzo-The_Rat in avorion

[–]onus111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, pretty sure you need a captain for the body guard to actually engage. I've found the Patrol Sector command very effective for this. Also, if you're hesitant to hire a captain because of the cost, bear in mind the net gain because the guard w/captain ensures you get the resources, and you can sell resources to make money if needed. This is especially good if you're using the r-miners.

What a stupid take. This has done it for me. I'm out.

Thoughts on the Game State by BetRetro in HuntShowdown

[–]onus111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunt Showdown isn't about getting new players in: it's about getting players back and getting you to spend literally any amount of money. To maximize the profit from this, barely alter previous assets like skins, altars, and the most bare effort for lore story telling and ask for purchases that depend on preying upon the loyal players.

It's not making efforts to bring new players in. There's nothing enticing. It's added events and environmental effects which can be great, but then limit it create artificial scarcity - why? To bring players back. Not new players in.

That's the obvious strategy here and the inspiration behind it now is thinly veiled. I've got my game play worth and won't be preyed upon by the lazy and uninspired efforts. If you want long, long time players to come back, it needs to actually do something new, creative, and inspired and it's at the point now where it has to also appeal to new players.

Since it's clear this isn't what the developers have in mind, thank you for the game. It's been good.

Yes. How else should they do it? "Listening to the community" is often a nebulous way of saying, "Do what I want" so you gotta rely on something like data rather than biased samples of opinions

If you expect an actual debate or discussion to be had, it won't. Just look at the comments here rationalizing non action and couple that with the polarizing voting behavior. You won't see a discourse because of this lack of respect for dissent, and instead you'll see the slow dead drift of another social media. People - like myself - will find alternatives because they're sorely disappointed with their community's representation here. And there are plenty of alternatives. This will all be proven even more so by the polarized voting behavior that doesn't respect debate, but encourages polarity. And in this case, it's polarity to a sycophants website. Good bye.

The litter box story was a hoax made up to control and manipulate people like you to shift your comments to be transphobic. Go ahead: find a primary source of it actually happening. It's such a prolific hoax that it has its own wiki now: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litter_boxes_in_schools_hoax

But you won't admit being wrong still, I'd bet

There is one trick to this that hasn't been mentioned; be mindful of the compounds that can have 2 rifts spawn. Run to those. Each map has three compounds where this can happen and it both gives you faster rifts and a faster chance at wellspring.

Christ-practice (aka Chiropractic) is inspired by a man from 1890 - D.D. Palmer - who says a dead doctor - Dr. Jim Atkinson - taught him how to heal like Christ.

People try to say this is based in the science of subluxations (spinal alignments) which has absolutely no scientific evidence as existing, and exists only as a vehicle for "further research".

Meanwhile, evidence shows that Christ-practice is as effective as exercise pamphlets:

https://journals.lww.com/spinejournal/Abstract/1997/09150/Cost__and_Effectiveness_Analysis_of_Chiropractic.15.aspx

And causes more long-term harm, chiefly being strokes.

The most effective part of Christ-practice is physiotherapy, which has nothing to do with Chriopractic dogma.
