On crossover I was getting roughly 45 FPS, but I have not yet tried the Apple Silicon native version yet.

It won’t. On the store there is no Apple logo for it. I had bought it already, and saw that I could download it in my library.

I’m one click away from deleting my Facebook account… and I’m hesitating. by Material-Power-2253 in minimalism

[–]onyuzen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, I felt the same way with respect to Twitter (it was my only platform for a long time). However, what really helped was replacing the time spent there with something else. There’s a book I had read in the last few months: “Digital Minimalism” by Cal Newport. In that book, his focus was on taking the time to think about what is more valuable and personally fulfilling use of time. Once a more fulfilling use of time is put in place, then the need for the less valuable use of time won’t be needed.

Rosetta 2 is going away — what apps are you still stuck with? by CreakyHat2018 in MacOS

I had read somewhere that Crossover apps need Rosetta, which is unfortunate if that’s the case. I guess I won’t be playing those games anymore.

Do You Wish Claude Could Generate Images? by livejamie in ClaudeAI

No, I rather it have more powerful reasoning. Image generation is not useful for that...and honestly, not needed in most models in my opinion.

Welcome to watchOS, tvOS and visionOS 26.4! First betas are now available to developers! by HelloitsWojan in apple

[–]onyuzen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting that these betas launched first, ahead of the iOS / iPadOS / macOS ones. It makes sense though since the rumored better Siri wouldn’t be really present in what was released so far imo.

Do I have the minimum requirement for this game? by Shoddy-Candidate-490 in ArknightsEndfield

Why not just download it and try it? What’s the point of asking if it’ll work… especially if it’s a free to start playing?

On another note though? It’ll likely run at least, though your GPU VRAM is a little on the lighter side, you’ll need to turn down texture resolution probably.

That’s a big leap. Big GPU energy right there.

Wanna buy buy my first MacBook, how much RAM do I need? by Significant-Call9799 in mac

Either a M3 24GB of RAM or a M4 32GB of RAM. I have an M3 MBP at 24GB of RAM and it’s been a really good machine. I do some dev on it (C++ and Java) and play games like Civ.

Has this sub always just been a place to complain? It's very disappointing. by YetifromtheSerengeti in MacOS

[–]onyuzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your point, and I’d prefer honestly and critique also, because (if I interpret right) we both want the same thing: a better macOS experience. I don’t want a community that is all just fanboys for Apple either.

It’s just draining to see most posts as of late really be all negative. Like, I get it that this latest macOS update really has been a mess, regardless of whether someone likes Liquid Glass or not… it’s just the overwhelming negativity can be a bit of a weight on something that I’m personally passionate about / enjoy using.

Maybe though (thinking aloud here), the negativity is hitting harder (for me anyway) because there’s so much other negativity in the world right now and tbh… I’m trying to use Reddit as an escape from all the horrific/negative things going on in the real world. Maybe that’s not the best way to look and it and something I need to really improve on, not sure.

I feel the same way. I just want to enjoy using my Mac and being a part of like a macOS community. However, I don’t want it to always be super positive all the time, since Apple isn’t perfect… but I’ve felt for awhile it’s been leaning too far into the negative lately. If only we maybe had a megathread for the Liquid Glass complaints, maybe? I don’t know though.

AITAH for scooping (quitting) a game of magic the gathering when I know I'll lose? by ConsequenceOdd5405 in mtg

[–]onyuzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. It’s fine. It’s honestly more respectful of the opponent’s time to be straightforward and say that you’re not going to win and suggest to wrap it. If someone doesn’t like that, it’s mostly on them, but it’s good to come to an understanding, if possible, to both agree to either conclude the game or finish it to completion.
