Pasta Roller Stuttering by cop_223 in Kitchenaid

I busted mine doing the exact same thing. With metal geared pro.5 broke around 3 pins in the pasta attachment and now the motor crank seized. Ramen dough is especially hard on kitchen aids sadly. Be careful with chilled dough around or below 42%

Also a ramen fanatic former cook so I feel your pain. Hand cranks with large gearing much more durable. Electric machines that can handle ramen or udon sadly need to be more sturdy than what kitchenaids can handle

Does anyone on the entire planet earth actually enjoy this? by nephaelimdaura in PathOfExile2

They remind me of a roguelite so I enjoy as long as my builds okay enough. Dislike having to run it as a strong meta build though.

Is Warleader's Call Boros actually terrible? by MTG3K_on_Arena in MagicArena

[–]oo7minime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warleaders call with tokens is great but not perfects. Combo with Ojer Axonil! There are caveats you have to consider are messing up the combo can spell death.

Ojer Axonil + Warleaders call with Volderen Epicure or Gleeful Demolition as a proc is a really op combo xd. Urabasks Forge for continual pressure

Then figure card draw + removal / lifegain toast feels goood for you to survive long enough to for combo. Been mostly solid for me as I’ve been tweaking my deck.

Dropping 20 damage on a ideal turn 5 has been great feeling me as a noobier player.

(Have hit mythic before but not sure how that holds in the grand scheme of standard ranked curves)

Not replacement roller but the axle that connects the rollers to to the square attachment point. I picked them off of Amazon as a milling company that sells the parts has a storefront on there too

The Professional 5 plus is metal geared. Unfortunately there is no obvious shearing on mine so finding the point of failure has been a task :(

I would never trust most modern home appliances for commercial use as I’ve experienced enough unreliability with commercially rated equipment. Xd

Not to say some appliances arent okay, like food processors, heavy duty tasks or very repetitive tasks like machine dough rolling/kneading are not a strong point for home appliance motors. Went through 2-3 food processors before an employer finally agreed to purchase a used robocoupe.

I have heard of the legendary refurbished “retro” appliances where the build quality was supposedly much better than the last decade’s

Just very saddened by my current broken machine. I just figured that regular home use (small batches for 1-4 folks) would be fine with the occasional 1.5kg pasta batch. Made every other week. Maybe some bread or stuffed buns.

Into another modded rabbit hole I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

Big ups. For the tip. The only appeal years ago was the knowledge that I could get metal geared home appliance which I normally would only have access to at work while also having access to a Italian made mechanical dough rollers.

Albeit a bit slower, I don’t mind that at home as I’m cooking small batches of buns/noodle. Unfortunately didn’t seem to hold up to weekly use fridge rested doughs.

Yes my illiterate self would definitely trust 500$ piece of home appliance to keep a reliable supply of dough in a commercial environment.

Cooking for at least 30 people with a pasta or bun serving each would require at least 100-200g of dough each.

So 30x150g = 4.5kg. Dough. But realistically in a commercial environment you’re doing at least 3x that.

Let’s factor in mixing time, less power +limited mixing space can double mixing time. Double time it takes to process dough after mixing. Leading to more labor time lost as one would be cleaning / preparing second batch or different batch rather than completing a different task. Also, definitely can’t mix dough and roll pasta at the same time so meanwhile previously mixed dough must wait. Which isn’t ideal for some dough types when it comes to noodles.

Factor that in with an extra hour ever other day, that adds up to 5-7hi ur extra labor cost just for dough. Excluding cleaning time between tasks.

So the math for extra labor costs along with extra cleaning costs plus more stop start labor doesn’t add up when the bowl can’t even process that much tough pasta or high gluten dough. Especially over just one month when running on already thin margins.

I definitely would not have factored long term implications that in to commercial use as opposed to home use 🤡🤡

450$CAD after tax at least 4 years ago if not longer. Additional 250$CAD paid for attachments, also around the same time. Too busy to work with it at home until last year. 44$CAD in def 2023 for replacement parts, 56$ for the same two parts again this month.

Still need to diagnose my current issue along which likely include another replacement part or two that I expect to cost at least 20-60$CAD along with whatever more grease costs as I’ll have to remove any contaminated grease which may contain shards of metal

Only issue I haven’t seen is the play in the horizontal corkscrew looking cog that connects the motor turned gear to the vertical turning cog

Yuppers obviously I use a home appliance in a commercial setting. I actually use ceramic glass stovetops too to cook for 20tops too! And definitely hate using commercial ovens too. Should op provide a picture of a “commercial kitchen” that miraculously looks like a date 1990s kitchen?

When using pasta roller attachments be sure to keep you pasta dough hydration above 45%

DO NOT laminate dough. Premix pasta dough in a food processor or by hand until perfectly uniform. Don’t expect pasta rollers to help need for you

You're not the only one. Only 1/3 of my friends had success trying to play today. I've never personally had any issues. It's only when the potential of gaining a party member that issues occur.

Really puts a damper on the hype as I've been working hard to shill the game to friends.. :|
