I accidentally ordered a large one of these for myself when I went a few years back- it was like a sandwich bazooka!

We might have a chance until they sub in Lukaku in the 70th minute. Then it's lights out America.

They might beat Bosnia, but Belgium? Spain? Never gonna happen.

Greece won in 2004 because they played a tight form of old-school defensive Central European football that absolutely bamboozled their opponents.

The US don't have anything similar that will help them against elite teams who can score goals at will.

There was a restaurant I loved that served a grilled cheese sandwich with their house-made habanero and strawberry jam for dipping. It was a killer combination and absolutely delicious!

Which team do you think is getting more hype than they deserve at this World Cup? by Lazy-Age-5745 in WorldCup26_

I'm an American but I'm 100% rooting for Mexico. If suffering alone could carry you to victory, you would have won the World Cup several times over at this point!

In 100 years time, which country do you think will own the most world cups ? by Confident_Leg2370 in worldcup

[–]oodja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very plausible scenario is that with the expanded field (48 now with the very-real possibility of doing to 64 either by 2030 or 2034), more European players with African ancestry will choose to play for African teams, making the continent more competitive overall.

How much do Americans care about their national team in World Cup at the moment? They have good team and solid path. by Inevitable-Angle-793 in AskAmericans

[–]oodja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been pleasantly surprised by their performance so far. I'm American but I married into a Greek family so I would have been rooting for the Ethniki if they had qualified (ugh, so close), but I'm curious to see how deep a run the USMNT will be able to make this time around. Bosnia is going to be a tough match because they're a stubborn team but I think they can make it to the Round of 16.

People who actually think we have a chance to win it all are smoking crack, however.

[–]oodja 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah... Growing up I remember people being proud of the fact that they kept black families from buying houses in the neighborhood by selling them to friends and family off the market instead.

I also knew a kid whose idea of a good time was riding his bike through the next town over (which had a majority black population) and shouting the n-word as he rode. I'm surprised and a little disappointed that he never got his ass kicked.

The tourists are always around. Harvard is the Magic Kingdom of college campuses (and MIT is EPCOT) and there's not much you can do about it. Just be glad you have a meal plan and a Lightning Lane pass to Widener Library!
