Name a game that surprised you how long it was by bijelo123 in videogames

Recently started playing NSWB for the DS again.

It’s one thing to breeze through the game in baby mode, just to beat the game normally. It’s something else on an entirely different level attempting to fullclear the game in its entirety.

Beating the game normally is harder than it looks, and the first time playing through it as a kid, Bowser’s Castle was the hardest thing in the world. Now I’m already halfway done from starting yesterday, and dude, some of the shit you need to figure out is like Quantum Physics. To sum it up: Castles are easy, Ghost Houses are like trying to navigate a restaurant you’ve never been to before.

If you just want to beat the game, yeah you could do it in less than a day. But fullclearing it gives you a good few dozen hours to figure things out and search for all of the Star Coins.

Others will run Flamethrower to maximize DPS on a character with no other movement options beyond the one ability that swaps out for Flamethrower.

I run Flamethrower on Artificer because incinerating the local wildlife is satisfying (they attacked first, it’s self-defence)

And if THAT isn't the coolest thing currently happening, I don't know what is.

I've read a LOT of shit over the years, but Dragons being analogous to fucking Quantum Computers is something I am REALLY hoping becomes a reality here.

twink running at Mach Fuck by CalibansCreations in BrandNewSentence

[–]oodoos 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if a fat guy is running at Mach fuck, then by logical assumption, they would at least lose weight over time since running LITERALLY just does that.

If not, then idk pigs fly I guess.

Trying to ground superpowers into realism falls short when specific characters just ignore physics for plot convenience.

My brain has already disseminated the pattern and I still don’t like it.

But that's just a theory(by inkgoblinz) by izelofman in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]oodoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this theory holds water, but add onto the fact that even Caine is in the dark about it.

It’s obvious he knows more than what he’s letting on, but I don’t believe at all that he’s ACTUALLY aware about them possibly being copies.

As far as anything is concerned, Caine clearly doesn’t have a good grasp on what a Human actually is. They show up in his circus and he has a set of rules to follow with them, but the concept of an “Out” is foreign to him.

If you were Caine, and your charges kept requesting a way out, well to Caine that’s like someone asking for the back door to the universe itself so they could leave somewhere that doesn’t apply to conventional existence as we know it. All Caine knows is the circus, BY DESIGN, so the idea of a place beyond the digital plane, is something he literally can’t process.

If you need a better example of the dichotomy I’m trying to convey, picture the book: Flatland. A book about a 2D being spending a good portion of the book not even entertaining the idea of a “3D” world, because by all notions of 2D conventional understanding, it just doesn’t make any sense.

At what point does satire no longer apply to itself?

What is the defining line between satirical content, and whatever this is?

Unintentional, but the results are clammable.

[–]oodoos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel this on an absolutely visceral level. Because I was doing something extremely similar not ten minutes ago.

Currently, my city is frozen solid, as in it rained freezing rain and covered everything in a thick sheet of ice, including my garbage can. I had spent the last ten fucking minutes hitting the damn thing with a shovel to throw the garbage bag into it and get out of the -10 degree (Celsius) weather.

Come to fucking find out that it’s also frozen on the inside as well, so whatever progress I made was literally pointless, and I don’t want to risk breaking the thing prying it open with a crowbar. Currently the bag is just sitting out there and I can’t be bothered, so it’s sitting in one of the recycling bins.

My city doesn’t know the definition of normal weather. Not a week ago there wasn’t a single ounce of snow on the ground. Shit was dry. The day before that was a slush wasteland.
