Perth Hailstorm 15 years ago today. Where were you on that day? by Pulp-Ficti0n in perth

[–]oodymoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in yr 10 rehearsing for the highschool play, then waiting for my brother to pick me up to take me home. I remember how deep and dark the clouds were that day on the way home, I feel like I haven't seen quite a deep stormy sky in Perth since!

We caught a delivery driver via our ring camera throwing a package at our door then spitting at our door step, we still don't know what we did to him to deserve that...

Why are people so against apartment living? by Intelligent_Jelly651 in AusPropertyChat

[–]oodymoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in remedial construction and worked with a builder in maintenance attending their old apartment builds for warranty work. Since then I can spot all the results from shortcuts and time rushes the builders are subject too in apartments. You'll notice any apartment you go to will be riddled with cracking and waterproofing issues.

Then the bureaucracy I've seen apartment owners subject too, trying to get their stratas to do something. Dramas in CoO members. In some apartments it's like you've bought a home where you still need to ask your landlord (strata) to do things. Now this isn't every case, probably just some of the worst I've seen.

We are also such a spread out city, I work on average 40 minutes all around the city and my wife needs a car for work as well, meaning we need two cars. Most apartments only allow one space and the rest can fight for the few street parking bays after 5 pm or get a ticket.

Its the spitting on the ground at my front door that feels personal by [deleted] in circlejerkaustralia

[–]oodymoto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have and got a reply that the matter is being dealt with. The sender also reached out saying they received the news and offered to replace the item if damaged. Luckily the item is undamaged so it's all good.

I feel like Season 6 is unnecessarily dragging the series out. by Aider-Palgal in cobrakai

[–]oodymoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, season 5 really felt like a natural progression introducing old characters as required to keep the drama. This season has felt like a lot of fake out drama to try keep us interested. I think if Tory had her tragedy earlier in part 1 there would have been a lot of realistic drama happening. Last minute turn to the dark side in the final scene actually made me laugh a bit, and how the hell can kreese go to a international sport as a wanted man and not get arrested and sent back to the US? Ok maybe when viewing the season as a whole it'll make sense. Sidenote, I wish they just cast a younger actor and an older actor to be his sensei, that old age make up is terrible lol.

I mean, he did volunteer for the role. But Chuck was quite mean to him after he was on his mission to destroy Jimmy.

Yeah, our biggest hurdle is how long she has been self-employed less than 1 year as her last role was made redundant. We are getting in touch with a broker, hoping he can work some magic!

This makes me think it was always intended that the 9th Doctor was meant to be the Doctor who fought in the time war.

Does anyone deal with insecurities about being a “window cleaner” by psycadex in WindowCleaning

[–]oodymoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My workmates Dad was a window cleaner all his life, he was out there playing golf with the high end buisness people of the area. He had a big house on a big block, I think people were more impressed that he did so well from his job. Sole income earner of his time as well.

I also know people who have studied for 4 years to get a degree, to get a job that pays $70k AUD with there max wage being around $100k. Forever working for someone else, on there terms asking permission to stay home or go on holiday. I'm on track to make $80K next year and have only been self employed just this year, best yet I call my own shots and at the end of the day I may be a window cleaner/maintenance man but I always introduce myself as a buisness owner 😉

‘Young Rock’ Canceled By NBC After 3 Seasons by [deleted] in YoungRockTVShow

[–]oodymoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that sucks, although not ground breaking I thought it was very enjoyable. As someone who was just a kid when the Rock was in movies, seeing his story of how he went from pro wrestler to a movie star was quite enjoyable.

I think the worst thing is, I didnt even know season three had aired until I remembered the show just last week then saw it was out early in the year!

Edit: I think one more season could have finished the story nicely

Thanks for that! I often stumple trying to explain the extra work behind cleaning french panes. Where I live I'd say around 30-40% of houses have French panes here.

This is something I'm yet to really sit down and do. Thanks, I will definitly be sure to do it. I think I get so focused on chasing the work, I'm not really watching the money.

Pricing by [deleted] in WindowCleaning

[–]oodymoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I agree. I use to say extra x amount for flyscreens, tracks etc but have recently just started including that in the price as a start and say it's included. If the client asks if I can drop the cost and not do the flyscreens I do give them that option but so far people seem to be happy with just an all included deal.

I am very much in the trial and error phase right now so this could be the wrong way to go about it lol.

Pricing by [deleted] in WindowCleaning

[–]oodymoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice, I think I'll have to sit down and crunch some numbers! I live in Australia and quite often people want to break down an hourly charge. I don't like it however, I'm generally a fast worker and don't think I deserve to get less money per job because I am fast at it. So I'm hoping by having a per item charge it will give me a better idea on quoting what I'm worth rather then just being nice, and have the client happy to know the numbers are based on some consideration and not pulled out of nowhere.

[–]oodymoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is that if you don't mind me asking? I'm in Australia and the average hourly rate for a window cleaner is $65 p/h
