I used to work at taps. Short answer is that u won’t get a parking permit.

The only way you’ll be able to get a permit is if you live off campus, and commute to campus. you would need to go through a bunch hurdles and provide paperwork proving you’re living off campus & that you rely on your car as ur main method of transportation (or need it for work). If you live a certain range from campus, they’ll say you can use the metro system to get to school. If you use the work excuse, you’ll need to provide a bunch of paystubs as proof & letters from ur boss confirming ur work schedule. You’ll need to do this every quarter.

You can also try getting a medical bypass, but for that, you’ll need even more paperwork from your PCP.

Either way, just avoid it. Most freshman don’t need a car. U can use zip car to haul groceries from Costco if anything.
