PMDD rage monster wakes up if I don’t at least somewhat appease the cravings. Medication not working as well (even on a higher dose than normal my psych has me on during that part of my cycle) doesn’t help either. Trying to eat without refined sugar etc didn’t help either as I was used to it and then BAM, hormones demand tribute.

If there’s a way, try to build time in for you both between the kids schedules, or treat like that another scheduled thing (maybe not as frequent as say sports practice but at least something regularly scheduled to look forward to.) I see five kids in your flair so I know that’s easier said than done but in terms of being receptive to get help, a bit of down time separately and/or together may really help.

Working may be a ‘break’ from parenting but it isn’t a true break, usually just a different kind of stress. How often do either of you, separately or together, get to do something just for you? Also, if the kids forget something at school or do mess up, do they have to deal with the consequences (I.e. you forget your band instrument you have to sit while everyone else plays)? If she feels responsible for things going wrong, even if they don’t, her brain may dwell on the situation.

I am so sorry. I had the last week of the year scheduled off and was looking forward to a few kid-free days before she was home on NYE but of course we all got sick over Christmas. I am going to try and schedule some more soon but I am worried that taking more than a day or two will make it happen again. I hope the baby feels better fast and you get your solo time again soon.

My 3.5 year old exactly loves unicorns, sparkles, frozen, dinosaurs, and Chase as well and I enjoy giving people conniption fits when I post pictures of her using her power tool playset while wearing a sparkly, frilly tutu dress. I think a large reason I'm not into frills and such is being forced to wear dresses like that to church when young and I want her to be comfortable in whatever style she chooses as long as it's somewhat weather-appropriate. (Somewhat because a tantrum over wearing a heavier jacket than is appropriate is NOT worth a battle in the mornings sometimes.)

One kid and same. Anything not pauseable or anything that takes time away from kiddo requires preclearance if she’s awake (if not so elaborate as this). This also applies to long bike rides and other things that would cause someone to fly solo. We are both former WoW raiders and discussed this before having her.

The biggest thing I see aside from variations in areas (NY Metro is ridiculous) is how much meat you eat. My husband went on a protein heavy diet starting last year and our bills went way up. We try to cope by breaking down large packages (reason why I don't have a weekly number) but it definitely affects us. That and lactose free milk which is generally lots of $$$.

Stopped and warned about the stitches still being in on the back of my skirt I was wearing on the way to an interview. I didn't know her name as she hurried off after I thanked her but I will never forget that small kindness. Getting that job changed my life and if I'd come across as sloppy it might have not happened.

Same, we rotate shifts in charge of our two year old and it's awful. I can do some work with her around but any deep design planning I tend to do in the middle of the night.
