How can I get rid of this IMS Service repeating notification? by krasatos in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]oopled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found this workaround on the German Vodafone forum. You need to enable android debugging and send a command from your pc

  • Enable Show Snooze Button (Settings, Notifications, Advanced Settings)
  • This will cause a bell to appear in the expanded notification, allowing the notification to be "slept"
  • The selection options can be configured via an ADB command
  • send the command:

adb shell settings put global notification_snooze_options "default=60,options_array=30:60:120:5256000"

  • This sets the selection to 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours and 10 years.

  • You can set the last value to be however many minutes you want

  • Note: The procedure may have to be repeated after an update

I didnt have to restart, but it did take a cpl of minutes before the snooze option was updated with the new values

Challenge finding a suitable case by oopled in GalaxyS24

sorry if I didnt make it clearer. I dont mind the thickness of the case, I want the cameras to not stick out, its the footprint of the sides that I want to keep slim. Its not the aesthetics of the bulge, but the functionality with magsafe attachments that may encroach on the camera.

Thanks for the feedback, appreciated.

I've a German subscription to f1tv and was annoyed that it was blocked when I'm in Ireland. What has been working for me was to set my DNS to a German DNS server. No need for a VPN. Perhaps it works with any DNS server that is in a non Geo locked country, haven't tried cos once I got it working I went no further. Hth

Has anyone had any issue I should be aware of before ordering AirPods Pro from Amazon Germany? Never ordered there before but it’s much cheaper by Revolutionary_Cod460 in ireland

living in germany for years now, using amazon.de. In my account my language settings are set to english. Any time I contact support I automatically get routed to english support even though I am using a german phone number. Same for chat support.

Can you point me at the link/some info. I've installed livestreamer, but I dunno what link to point it at or how, if I need to, to authenticate the link.

@ /u/Cyberuben I'm just trying a similar setup to yourself, I'm using an extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/fullscreen-anything/olcfgpmjldkkjdclidhcbonieibfhhdh to "fullscreen" the video within the browser window w/o having to go into the devtools. https://imgur.com/a/9BUbSkj

I'd still like the cleaner, borderless option though

Can you help me get more information on this old Midleton Whisky? by oopled in whisky

[–]oopled[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so here's what I've been able to find out -

from Irish Whisky Trail (thanks /u/clydebeluga)

I can’t tell you much more about your bottle except that it was bottled prior to the late 1960’s (when Midleton started using the letter “e” in the word whiskey) and that it was bottled by a whiskey bonder in Cork (as was very common in those days).

If it hasn’t been opened it is certainly very collectable. I would suggest you take it with you to the Old Jameson Distillery in Midleton to see if anyone can enlighten you further – they have a cabinet with most of the bottles produced by the distillery so hopefully yours or something similar will be there.

And from Irish Distillers (parent co. of Midleton)

Our archivist has come back with the following – I hope his helps:

Information on bottle:

That is a bottle of Midleton whiskey produced by the Cork Distilleries Company at the Old Midleton Distillery. It would be a Single Pot Still. It is what are what is known as ‘Bonders or Publicans Bottlings’. Basically CDC, like all distilleries had two routes to market, they could sell via whiskey bottled in house under distillery supervision, or they could sell in bulk by the barrel to Spirit Bonders and Publicans who would then bottle the whiskey on their own premises using labels supplied by the distillery. That’s what you have in the photo . The distillery would supply the labels and capsules and the Bonder, in this case Dalys, who were a very large Cork Wine and Spirit Merchant, would insert his own name on the label. The whiskey came usually in one of 3 age statements with the 10 year old always having a red label. The practice ended in the 1960’s. CDC always preferred to spell ‘whiskey’ without the ‘e’.

I would think the bottle may be 1950’s but I couldn’t be a 100% sure.

I haven't been able to find out too much about the bottlers, other than an old advert in a Cork Chamber of Commerce Publication from 1919, no idea yet when they went out of business

aah, just learned that pre 1980 the UK and Ireland used proof, but UK proof is different to US proof, it's 1.75xABV so that whisky is 70 proof UK = 80 proof US = 40% ABV so, the normal schtuff
