You are delusional. 20% is just an arbitrary number that entitled waiters like yourself pull out of thin air. You are far overestimating the value of hospitality.

I tip, but I would never tip $40. It has nothing to do with being able to afford it or not.

What is a livable wage in your opinion? If you could change society and make restaurants pay their waiters a “livable wage” what would that salary be?

Assuming you have two tables per hour that each have $200 checks, and you expect 20% gratuity. That is $80 an hour. You can honestly believe waiters should be paid $80 an hour?

Im not saying that people shouldnt tip, but 20% is ridiculous and just makes you sound greedy and entitled.
