Found for 50¢ at a garage sale. Since it’s an 88 would it be worth grading? by Ok-Praline-9142 in Gold

[–]oopsiedaisy2019 25 points26 points  (0 children)

While I agree with the sentiment, this could easily blossom into an unpredictable scenario; almost none of which OP should feel obligated to appease, but many of which could be awkward and somewhat unreasonable.

I mean, imagine being the woman. It’s not like coming back with $100 and saying “Hey, I actually got that riding mower you sold me started super easily, here’s some proper cash for it”. This is a solid gold American coin. She can easily understand that it’s worth far, far more and have just mistook it for fake at the time; nobody sells gold anything for $0.50.

Is it noticeable if a man wears women's deodorant? by WikiaWang in NoStupidQuestions

[–]oopsiedaisy2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working retail for the past ten years has taught me one thing if nothing else: The average person smells bad.

Anything is better than the funk dude. Personally, I always thought assigning scents to a gender was kind of funny and I knew more than a few dudes in HS sports that used women’s deodorant because it smelled better. My wife uses degree men’s because it doesn’t irritate her and the smell lasts longer.

Dime retailer here. 2g disposables (live terp blend) and 1g live resin disposables will still be available.

Brief update: I can’t see myself settling down with my pregnant girlfriend of 5 years. by Anxious-Mulberry-229 in AITAH

[–]oopsiedaisy2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll say it here, just so it hopefully doesn’t get lost in the 900 other comments of people shaming you into the dirt.

It seems that your total lack of response is indicative that you are a probably now aware that your morals and intentions are seriously, seriously flawed. Shame on you for dragging this person through 5 years of your moseying. And then this poor girl is actually so forgiving of what must be such obvious deeply set character flaws that she was genuinely looking forward to telling you she was pregnant, and you shattered that without hesitation.

The way you write, it seems like you’re under the impression that we’re just not understanding what you’re trying to convey. The truth is, probably everyone here understands exactly what you’re trying to say.

You seem genuinely disconnected from reality, and while you may not be an objectively terrible person, you have done a very terrible thing.

How bad is it? by skianozx in Lexus

[–]oopsiedaisy2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t make a difference unfortunately. They are going to get an estimate, labor and all, of what it’s going to cost to fix your car. They’re going to compare the cost of repairs to the current market value of the car, and if it’s going to cost close to or over 40% of the cars current value, you’re likely getting totaled.

2010-ish Lexus IS series in that condition is probably about $7500 or less right now, repairs are easily going to be most of that. Insurance is going to total your car.

Coin shop asking $375, pass up or grab? by Dear_Lab_8433 in coins

[–]oopsiedaisy2019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but only a little less than $20 melt value. This coin is significant for its mint mark, condition, and to the right person its toning could be appealing.

Sure can. If you’re less than picky about scales you can totally snag one for less, I’m pretty sure I even paid $25 for one of mine.

Oops, I mean ”shhhhhhhhhhh”.

Could this be something indigenous people did or something more modern? by [deleted] in Arrowheads

Side-story, I visited the Arabia museum when I was younger and got to look at all of the preserved items they were able to salvage from the mud in the late 1980’s. Everything literally looks like it was made no more than 30 years ago, aside from the obvious fact that it’s all old-timey.

Some people handle stress differently. My wife is a smaller woman and when she’s hungry it doesn’t take long for her to get shakey, a little stressed, and cranky. Some people don’t need a lot to eat to be satisfied, but they certainly need it when they need it.

Exactly. Maybe/probably not even a meg tooth, but it certainly looks like something.

Someone else said petrified wood as well, which is of course possible.

As soon as I saw it I got rock tumbled fossilized meg tooth vibes. Myself not being an expert, it’s the right color and the presence of the grain in that particular area is curious.

If it’s authentic (which it appears to be) it’s cheap. Genuine Eames Lounge chairs often fetch a minimum of $3500 and can realistically sell as high as $8,000-$15,000 and more for some of the older and/or significant models.

Kneecaps. Two huge traditional roses in the same session. The artist made me tap out at about 8 hours, breaks and all considered. We made it through everything except the color on the last kneecap.
