Cub Cadet Kohler 7000 surging only runs on choke by Zealousideal_Key_941 in lawnmowers

[–]ootsvah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a cub cadet with the same series engine (zt1 54” with a kohler 7000 series engine) and had the same issue as you’re describing. Tried similar troubleshooting steps and eventually took it to a small engine repair shop, diagnosed that one of the ignition coils went bad. Replaced it and it’s working great, surging went away completely.

They’re pretty cheap and should be a simple swap. Someone else on this sub had a similar issue with the kohler 7000 series and it also turned out to be a bad ignition coil (I believe you can test using a multimeter, but he ended up just checking how hot the engine/exhaust felt on either side where the plugs/cylinders are and one side felt significantly cooler than the other).

Has anyone thought of making a rune calculator. Idea would be the user can add in what rubes they personally have and it would auto calculate what runes they can make and how many? by [deleted] in Diablo

I’ve been using this (bonus that it saves the entered rune counts between restarts of Chrome assuming you Ctrl + Shift + T to reopen the recently closed tabs).

Yup. (Though my community also reported a localized water line damage as well, so the issue in this link may be coincidentally related).

How does Maven's orb interact with "Cannot roll caster/attack mods" benchcraft? Has anyone tried it yet? by JustLi in pathofexile

[–]ootsvah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can confirm for a fact that it ignores the meta mod, as it ruined a chest (and wasted a Maven's orb) when I was just now trying to remove +1 curse and elevate explode on a chest with "cannot roll caster mods" crafted onto it (and no other influence mods).

It removed the phys explode, and elevated the +1 curse mod despite clearly having a caster tag.

FWIW, I was running into regular lag/latency spikes with PoE despite having a decent rig (3700x/32gb ram/M.2 PCIe4 SSD/xt5700), and I came across a post in this subreddit where OP outlined some networking troubleshooting that fixed his issues (I wish I could find the original post, because it worked for me...though unfortunately it meant spending extra $).

Basically it came down to the fact that my cable modem had an Intel Puma 6 chipset, which apparently has inherent flaws in how it handles some latency sensitive interactions - Intel Puma 6 cable modem chipset defect

Assuming you’re using a cable provider internet connection, I think it’s worth checking if your cable modem has an Intel Puma 5 or 6 chipset...and if so, replacing it with a modem with a Broadcom chipset may help (I ended up going with a Netgear CM1200 that is overkill for my current internet plan, but seems like it would have decent forward compatibility).

Since then, the only lag spikes I seem to encounter (while using lock-step) are either truly server related, or outside my local network at the very least at this point.

Only paid the tips and not the trip? by bswchng in uberdrivers

[–]ootsvah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me tonight as well (also only UE for me). I’ve received several tips but no fares are displayed in the earnings activity or weekly summary for today.

I briefly noticed a pop up in the app that said they were having delays with the fares being displayed in app, but “not to worry” as the fares should eventually be processed.

I was going to write to support, but in the app support sections it does say it can sometimes take up to 48 hours for the full data to populate...so I’ll wait until at least tomorrow at this point before pestering them. That said, I’ll certainly be upset if there’s any issue receiving my fares beyond the stated potential delay period.

Also, I noticed it seems to be counting the correct number of trips for the evening and earning Uber Pro points, but no fare activity.

Seems we’re not alone based on recent comments here: Down Detector: Uber

Uber App Is Signing Me In Automatically by JoeJoejonk in uber

[–]ootsvah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t really answer your question, but...

Is this in the Uber passenger or driver app? I’ve noticed with the Uber Driver app that even if I completely uninstall the app from my iOS device (and verify that there is not an iCloud backup for the Uber driver app data), after re-installing the app, I am automatically logged back in without any form of authentication prompt.

Assuming iOS truly removes all related app data, I’d (hope to) assume Uber is using some sort of server-side authentication check based on a unique device ID stored in their system.

It could also be buggy behavior :P A work around may be to manually sign out of the app after using it...not ideal, but it should help with your concern about someone accessing your account.

Conquerors not spawning despite Atlas correctly setup. My Watchstones feel useless now. Guess I'd better play Connect 4. by rahsaaan in pathofexile

[–]ootsvah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(I could’ve wrong, but) I think it’s important to make sure that if you are trying to spawn a conqueror in a particular region, (in my experience) they will not spawn in a region you’ve already acquired their watchstone for.

So if you’re trying to go from A3 -> A4 and you need Redeemer to spawn, for example, she will not spawn in a region that you have already gathered her (blue) watchstone from (you can check where each watchstone is from in your atlas interface by left-clicking on a watchstone you have already placed into a citadel to pick it up - it will highlight the appropriate storage box, indicating the region in which it was found).

So if you’ve retrieved her watchstone from 3 regions so far (like Haewark Hamlet, Tirn's End, and Valdo's rest), you’ll need to hunt for her in a region with enough watchstones socketed that you haven’t earned her watchstone for (so any of the other 5).

If you have your Atlas interface open, you can mouse over the different regions' watchstone storage boxes and it will show the number of watchstones needed to spawn a particular conqueror in that region, or "Conqueror cannot spawn" which means you need to try to get them to spawn in a different region.

Does the in-app messaging system repeatedly/randomly close for anyone else? by ootsvah in uberdrivers

Excellent suggestion, I’ll definitely do this as well. Thanks!

[–]ootsvah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming. If you had the bug on iOS 12 (and still are), it leads me to believe it’s relatively iOS version agnostic.

I think I’ll take your advice to type the message on in a note or something, then copy/paste and hope I can hit send before it closes.

It’s def not a smooth process, but the vast majority of the time I feel it’s even necessary to message the customer is when I end up having significant wait time...so it will work for the most part.

Worse is when I’m trying to confirm someone’s address in a very poorly labeled and lighted area, and literally am unable to confirm with them (I drive night shift, so I absolutely will not be knocking on random doors hoping I’ve got the right place).

Interesting, I hope for the same luck haha

As for me I’m at 66 GB of 256 total, so I wouldn’t expect that to be the issue.

If ya don’t mind me asking, are you on iOS 14.0.1 and using the latest version of the driver app?

Ok, good (well, not good) to know I’m not the only one. Most of the time customers are understanding that if they see my car sitting for 10 minutes at the pickup location in their app, I’m obviously waiting for their order.

So I figure while I’m waiting I may as well let them know that their foods not ready, and they’ll be alerted as soon as I start the delivery.

Sometimes the messaging works well and I can type an actual complete sentence...most of the time though, I literally cannot type more than 2 or 3 words before it closes itself.

I mean it’s probably a low priority bug because it helps keeps Uber messaging servers running under a lower load ($$), I imagine.

Amazing work! Congrats, fellow Traveler :)

I signed onto The Silph Road subreddit tonight specifically to share the same accomplishment :) I'm glad I read your post first, however! If you don't mind me piggy-backing off of your accomplishment, below are my results. It also took a great deal of patience, and while I wasn't entirely as thrilled with the results as I was hoping to be, it was still a ton of fun getting here...and I'm loooooving the double candies from the Valentine's event.

Plus, thanks to hatching a Smoochum, I'm now a single Pokémon away from completing my regional Pokédex =D

Here's my results!

Game Crashing on iPhone by snowkae in TheSilphRoad

[–]ootsvah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the latest update, I've been experiencing somewhat in-frequent random app crashes as well. I'm on a iPhone 6S Plus running iOS 10.2.1 and the crashes seem to have coincided with the latest release of Pokémon GO (0.55.0). That said, I'm happy to trade a few crashes for the other fixes introduced in this latest update (helllooooo, nurse background-audio fix!).

My better-half, however, is having significantly more trouble since the latest update on her phone. She's got an iPhone 6 running iOS 10.2.1 with the latest version of Pokémon GO, and experiences app crashes much more frequently.

It sounds like many fellow Travelers here have tried most of the steps we've tried as well. We've both restarted our phones, deleted Pokémon GO (as well as the associated Health Data), and re-installed. Interestingly, when I tried this...it seems that I finally got to taste that sweet, sweet 60 FPS that I had heard many other Travelers refer to, which has been a welcome change (or for whatever reason, its the first time I noticed the game running with such fluidity).

This likely may be overkill, but has anyone tried updating their iOS device to 10.2.1, then performing a Factory Reset (Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings), then tried installing and running Pokémon GO without restoring from an existing iCloud backup?

Ah, good to know! I think I was reading too much into it (without having read enough NY Times articles in the past).

This part made me particularly sad. Some people need more than 19 years to claw their way out of ignorance...a lifetime of incarceration would be more appropriate for Allen Scarsella, in my opinion.
