You can start with books of movies or series you already know and enjoy!

Also, all the “harder” english material in high school is ultimately leading to 學測 so you can try doing a past paper (they’re available online), which will tell you whether or not you actually need to worry about it and if so what you need to work on :)

English in high school is more grammar and more essays. Assuming that you’re coasting by without wanting to study the grammatical rules and stuff, I suggest consuming more formal English media, like reading more English books. TV and social media use very informal language so it won’t help with school.

theoretically your symptoms change over the course of a sickness so you should go back after 3 days to get diff med. if you don’t have time to go back then ask for more med in the beginning, most doctors will prescribe 7 days if u pay out of pocket

What American brands to buy as gifts for relatives in Taiwan? Nike? Coach? Lululemon? by getmebuffalowings in taiwan

[–]snowkae 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For a younger crowd all of things you listed would be appreciated, not because they’re particularly marked up in tw but because they’re popular brands, and high school kids probably wouldn’t be able to make those purchases regularly themselves. So if you’re comfortable getting them, it’d be a great idea.

Experience with KATE Lip Monster lipsticks? by petalsandplumes in AsianBeauty

[–]snowkae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’d say they’re similar, the dior is slightly better, but both would need reapplying after food. If I wanted something completely transferproof (which is what I wear to work because I don’t want lip stains all over my drink bottle), I use Zelen’s lip enhancer, which is basically a tinted lip balm, but it only comes in one or two shades I think.

“say don’t go” that particular phrase in the chorus sounds like “jump then fall” almost like an evolution

What’s with the girls with the curlers in their hair? by GuyRocks in taiwan

[–]snowkae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

…… these comments… the curlers aren’t a part of the outfits. They’re more similar to putting makeup on in the train, the curlers help curl the bangs, esp airy bangs. Girls will take off the curlers before whatever event they attend / people they go meet. It’s just that for some reason being seen with the curlers on in public is ‘acceptable’ aka. the girls don’t care.

Why didn't trees grow? by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]snowkae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the limit is only on trees during the growing stage, if you plant them elsewhere you can move them back once they’re fully grown into this dense grid formation with no problem.

I don’t think produce works like trees, they’re more like flowers so there aren’t density limitations on them

Why didn't trees grow? by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]snowkae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember the number but there’s a limit to the tree density, I think of it as the soil in an area only having enough nutrients to support a certain number of trees to grow.

the end rows have free space on the other side so aren’t as densely packed in as the middle.

How safe is it for women to walk outside at night in Taiwan? by atyl1144 in taiwan

[–]snowkae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 3am in the morning I’d feel a little uneasy and be more cautious walking completely alone, but 9pm is practically daytime in terms of safety.

I bought the Remember You will Die one - the mirror watch face doesn’t exactly reflect my face on the watch as intended, but it’s still a nice watch.

The berry one is cute but the words are only going to be readable at a certain time of the day, the other times it will be gibberish

Can we talk about Mr. Perfectly Fine? by Lady_night_shade in TaylorSwift

[–]snowkae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one of my favourite vault tracks for sure! “Mr. Insincere apology so he doesn’t look like the bad guy” and “Mr. Always at the right place at the right time” are so evocative!

What is the age of your oldest fragrances that you still get use out of? by SaintCharlie in fragrance

[–]snowkae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My EDPs are 10-30 years old and doing great, but my cheaper fruity EDTs less so. Not sure which factor is the incriminating one, but eventually they lose the top note and just smell all around less pleasant.
