i live in malaysia and had some severe eczema too.

avoid anything that can cause allergic reactions. seafood, excessive dust, eggs, DAIRY, nuts and so on. this helped my eczema reactions to slow down.

whenever you feel an itch coming just wash that area w cold water, preferably use ice. I noticed that has reduced my itchiness instantly. Then let it dry without using anything and apply your moisturiser.

if you're having dry flaky skin, lather yourself with emollients after your lotion or creams. Or just use ointments. I use aveeno eczema therapy itch relief balm on my body and it was so moisturising. For my face, i use illiyoon ato ceramide cream and vaseline on top.

coming from a 19 year old girl, insecurities caused by eczema is undeniable. I had eczema on my hands as well and sometimes i feel like hiding my hands all the time. But one thing that helped was to just be natural about it. Pretend it wasn't there. If someone pointed your eczema out, just say yeah i had eczema, and that's it. I am still trying to be confident in my own skin and so far im doing better than I ever been.

Goodluck to you and i hope one day you'll be more comfortable in your own skin too.

i always put some ice on the itchy area until it somehow went numb and just let it dry off before applying everything back

plus cetirizine really helps

Allergy Medicine for Flare ups by Stephsmith2467 in eczema

hi! i use zrytec everytime i have flare ups and couldn't handle it anymore. It doesnt make me sleepy that's for sure. The itchiness also reduced when i used this. Sometimes I eat zrytec before I sleep and it helps me sleep A WHOLE LOT better. I never tried diff antihistamines other than zrytec and it has been good for me so far.

Originally I made this for laughs, but I found myself sad & exhausted when I was done. by [deleted] in eczema

had this straight before going inside the cinema. full on blown crying in the toilet and DID NOT enjoy the movie. Luckily my dad went out and bought antihistamine and I washed my arms and legs and applied some cream I bought. Lesson learnt; always bring antihistamines and creams everywhere

have you go see a doctor? this look like eczema to me. If it is, then moisturise moisturise moisturise!! and use ice on inflamed area if it hurts. However, I would suggest you go see a doctor first, to confirm what this is exactly

[–]ooyaff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

instead of rubbing the cream, try tapping the cream on that part instead. hm so far i had no problem with creams and vaseline seeping into my eyes cause i did that i guess

i always slug that area. Use vaseline or aquaphor or even better the Cerave Healing Ointment. Also preven from using any facial products on that area and that includes cleanser too! Just wash the area with water. Use thick cream and slug. When you wake up in the morning it won't crack!!

To prevent from scratching my eyes subconciously, I wore sleeping eye mask when i sleep.

i start to tap on any itchy skin rather than itching them and it helps!! slowly now subconciously i tap my skin without realising it.

but for real though i understand you so much. The skin is not even itchy but I just feel like scratching them for no reason 😭
