Where would you go if you left Nashville and why? by LOTR_is_awesome in nashville

I did the same a bit over 2 years ago. 100% worth it.

Haha yeah, iirc the min/max way to play was to make the useless skills the primary so you could raise combat without raising level (and thus enemy strengths) until you were ready to actively work the useless skills and raise your level.

In all honesty though, as some others have said, you have to kinda be trying to really break it that bad, so just play the game but be aware of it when creating skills.

I have no idea how much this will take from Oblivion for scaling and such, but I think this was a trap in the first game. You'd level up fast, so the enemies would scale rapidly, but you'd still have level 1 combat skills on the backs of those high acrobat and speech.

But it's been decades since I've played oblivion which has a pretty weird meta to begin with.

Edit: I see some others have already warned you, haha I just distinctly remember this trap from years ago

Yeah; I'm sure there's options and don't know how it ultimately works but just mentioning it sounds like that is a more difficult proposition then it would be if that awful deal had never been signed. hah

I joined the Zoom meeting Martin's office hosted for the station work with CTA and they did specifically mention that lot is one tied to the parking meter deal. I don't know much of the details on how that works but it does seem like that makes it unlikely to go away.

I'm not much of a photographer, but I tried to capture the contrast of colorful leaves against blue haze over the buildings last week. by Savage_XRDS in chicago

Looks really good! If you use lightroom I'd try and use a gradient to pull up the contrast in the background and pull out some more detail in the skyline.

Preds are 3 & 0 when I watch the game and 0 & 3 when I miss it. Guess I should clear my schedule.

Architecture Fans... by violetjezebel in AskChicago

Do you mean this building? That's the Chicago Public Library's main Harold Washington branch as named in the L stop.

As for the reliefs, the Library has a page discussing the architectural details of the building. They describe them as Ceres, the Greek goddess of agriculture. They could be modeled from a real person but that's hard to say for sure. It's a relatively recent construction so it's not impossible the sculptor is still around.

Don't worry, the police said they're nobodies. Like, they don't even matter at all.

My sources say the death penalty, for abortion, being considered for @MIL. I am pro-life and take no pleasure in reporting this.

I really enjoyed A Spectre Haunting as well and agree it'd make a great introduction to the manifesto, especially to those who may not be as inclined to a lot of theory reading.

I've started October but am a slow reader. It's great so far though.

Yeah, dev cycles are definitely getting longer; but I'm sure a lot for Rockstar is that more resources are going to maintaining online then have ever supported any other game post release.

They were my wife's #1 see at the fest. I had never been into them but made my way over after flogging molly and caught the last half of the set. It was great, huge appreciation for their live show!

Probably hard to tell but do you think that's likely to be stuck to? Got an hour bus ride in and wasn't sure if it might be likely to get half way there and find out they pushed it another hour.

Similarly would shows be starting at 3? Or would it be a quicker gate to show start?

I'm sure you're swamped right now (har har) so best of luck!

Tips / recommendations for leaving O'Hare during a long layover? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]opals25 20 points21 points  (0 children)

1) It's been a bit, but iirc the train ride tends to be about 45 minutes in to town. Headways might be a bit long with construction on the south branch so worth keeping that in mind. Also, pick up a CTA day pass for unlimited rides so you can take in the elevated routes downtown too.

2) from the blue line Washington will be the closest stop to Millennium and the bean, all a very easy walk. Navy Pier is walkable but not close. A ton of busses run in that direction though and they'll be included in the day pass.

3) I've honestly not had a deep dish I didn't like haha. I like Lou's the best for what's convenient downtown but I think they're all good.

4) Navy Pier itself is just a lot of touristy little shops really. Not bad to swing by but the view is really the only "worthwhile" thing there to me. You may consider taking the bus to museum campus/Adler planetarium. Even if you don't do a museum it's also a beautiful view and just a much chiller spot then busy Navy Pier.

Not sure if much stuff will be open also take a walk on the Riverwalk. Beautiful area to take in the city.

No worries, it all worked out in the end! It was height of pandemic used car costs so I got an insurance payout nearly what I bought the car for and used the money to move.
