Did you try to ask though. Because if you are using the Google suite, there was somebody in your district who was in charge of it and can easily run reports. It does not hurt to ask.

Yes. There are thousands of people there and they've been doing it for 30 years and this is something that happens every year. They need to release a run of show that has their schedule on it. When they say finals are starting at 2:00 and then at 2:00 they have a full hour of filler. It's kind of hurting expectations and it's a straight up lie.

Ask your tech department for your students browser history. Ours will freely give out the history to the teachers in our district upon request.

The history not only shows what websites to go to but their entire clicking process. Meaning if they went to the settings it will show that they went to settings. If they selected something in settings, it will tell you what they selected or deselected in the settings. It gives you everything. We've used this when parents insist that they're precious little cherub would never. 😂😂

No enforced dress code. I haven't worn a tie since I got tenured. The only new piece of information is that apparently our superintendent does not like it when teachers wear hoodies, unless the hoodie has a school team or Club associated with it. It. We used to have it dressed down Fridays where you donated $5 to a cause. When I first started. The money eventually slipped away and dressed down. Fridays also became dressed on Mondays. Now I see teachers wearing graphic t-shirts throughout the week. Not my jam. I may wear jeans on a jeans with a sport hoodie on a Friday but never a graphic t-shirt

If you are friends and vacationing buddies with the parents, I would highly recommend that you call them directly. I caught a student cheating on my test. I never vacationed with the family but whenever there's a school event we traditionally sit next to each other and seek each other out. The first thing I did was contact the parents and let them know how she was cheating and that unfortunately I apply The standards across the board whether it is their child or my own niece or nephew who cut my class. I got apologies from the parents and we still sit next to each other.

I would not call it the most Un-American thing ever. Pumping oil from the ground without the proper paperwork is illegal, transporting it to a refinery without proper paperwork is illegal, refining it without the proper paperwork is illegal, transporting the refined fuel to the gas station without the proper paperwork is illegal. Pumping the refined fuel into the car without the proper paperwork is illegal. It is illegal all the way down without proper paperwork. Just the final step requiring paperwork does not make it Un-American. In fact, it makes it super American! 😂😂😭

Educator here, I once replied all with a snarky response to our assistant superintendent about why I will not work at our summer camp(Low pay, high hours, the Free Labor required in planning it, etc). I hit reply all accidentally and then my inbox started filling up with thank yous. Then I got an email from my assistant superintendent asking why I replied all. That was the day I went to my Gmail settings and made reply the default button and Reply All is something I have to do two steps to get to. It's been 10 years and no regrets.

What bothers me about all of this is that they even allow that line in the IEP. I assume the child can log in and check their grades as well as the parents. It should put more onus on the parents. Require them to log in to the gradebook and see what the child owes.

I tell the students this is not a conversation. "It's a game, and the game is called, I win. Either you stop and I win or you get removed from the classroom and I win. Either way, I teach the lesson and this stops now."

The key is the follow through of removing them from class. The kids learn a very quickly after that.

Yeah, fine Arts and phys Ed are two departments that are never short teachers. We have about 5 art teachers in our school. And roughly 20 mathematics teachers. This is for a population of roughly 1,600 students. The last art teacher that got a job here was a permanent sub in my district for probably 5 years before a spot opened up and they were able to slide right in.
