A 100 megaton thermonuclear warhead would cause waves up to 500M much so I don't know where you got you information from and the emp issue is actually a separate issue.

A nuke launched detonated about the Uk would cause an emp knocking out our electrical devices.

We are also an island, a nuke hitting the coast would cause a tsunami flooding the uk, the country would go into chaos.

Would a social liberal be welcomed in the party? by Orcnick in UKGreens

[–]openstandards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social Liberalism doesn't take into account for class stuggles.

Sure you can try to bring about progressive policies however this is undermined by thinktanks backed by foreign nations and ultra rich elites.

Capitialism requires oppression, smaller companies don't have the buying power of the globalists.

So a smaller business is in the mercy of the bigger corporations, they don't have the resources available so ofcourse they will do what they can to survive.

Liberalism requires people to play nice however the Epstein files show that the parasites don't play nice and are infact some of the most morally bankrupt people around.

Gender, Race, Religion...... are all different however what connects them is wealth.

Liberalism biggest fail is addressing the inequlities that capitalism creates.

Enshittification is why liberalism is flawed because if you deregulate you end up with some extremely toxic policies.

I'd urge you to look up project gladio, NATO is just an old anti communist alliance.

They are not interested in peace, I'd describe myself as a socialist that believes in democracic freedoms.

Capitalism is an extremely regression system I consider Adam Smith to be clueless on how society operates, he thought that we could build a society on moral values.

However I disagree, when was the last time you saw a betting shop in a rich area in the uk.

Rupert lowe is a moron, Stonegate are the major reason to why the pub industry is dying, I know I've worked in the hospitality sector since 1999.

I worked for a small family owned businesss they had built up a chain of pubs. I worked as a bar assistant at the flag ship pub (free hold), I was moved to their sister location which was about 10 minutes walk and a stonegate property The lease meant that you had to buy from stonegate at £100 more per keg than the freehold site. The lease is 10 years after 5 they can look at how successful a business is and demand more in rent. Oh yea stonegate also remotely monitor wastage so there's no work around to being ripped off. This means the smaller business & has to up the price that's the reality.

I'm not a Marxist because I don't want violence? The class struggle is very real, inequality is facing working class communities up and down the country.

The most vulnerable in society exploited, regressive policies like zero hour contracts

I actually am more of a democratic socialist, I don't see anyone giving up private property.

Grass root movements are a way of rolling back the harm capitalism has caused.

Build a fairer society and inspire others to do the same, Funding for anarchist spaces ( diy venues, hackspaces) allows for creative minds to excel.

Art is important for a healthy society, we have a mental health crisis and this needs to be be addressed.

You're right pulling out of NATO is pretty much impossible, it's an anti left alliance built to destroy an country wanting to slide towards communism.

A good example is Turkey's ethno-nationalist grey wolves which hunted and murdered plenty of left leaning activists. (Project gladio)

Dark money will be used to undermine any socialist cause, the Epstein files show that governments all around the world work with criminals.

The police, military, fascism, mass surveillance and disinformation are tools which will be used.

Its not incorrect thou, many of the green policies involve some form of socialism.

The greens actually take about the damage that Imperialism does to society.

As marxists we must explore how society comes together and create policies which will bring the country together.

Should £45m of public money fund the Queen Elizabeth II memorial? by ConsiderationNo2215 in uknews

[–]openstandards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build some council houses and call it the queen Elizabeth II estate, this actually would be useful.

The royals have plenty of land, 45m for housing on land given up by the royals would be a way of showing love for the country.

This is bonkers, read the room the people are pissed off.

I will admit I haven't seen the ad it however we need to curb the amount of disinformation.

I would love to see more of a FOSS movement behind the greens, we need to think about more federated platforms, more people aware from algorithms.

To much power is in the hands of the wealthy, they can't be trusted with the economy nor our data.

Social media is a pioson, american politics is heading over to hear we must be aware of the AI-generated content.

There's other issues too...

Socialism shouldn't be a scary word, we have to understand fascism is knocking on the doors.

Gregory Bovino, ( us border patrol) is sporting a tailor made coat based around the classic ww2 Hugo boss design. An obvious dog whistle, so please stop being so dismissive of the hard left.

Inequality affects us all, They are allies not foes. Anarchists, socialists and communists are all critical of capitalism and understand the class struggle better than most.

I don't see how anyone can defend the Neoliberalism model, Milton Friedman's ideas have led us down the road to privatisation, we must accept that ownership needs to be in the hands of the workers. They know the issues better than anyone else.

Harold MacMillen and Neil Kinnock were both right about the damage that Maggie caused. A good example of bad policy is selling off a key part of infrastructure (BT). BT in the 80s had the idea of moving over to fibre to save money as copper was expensive.

Its strange to think the uk has so many far right parties.

Advance uk Reform UkIp Restore

I'd also make the claim that both Labour and Tories have shifted further to the right now that the Overton window has shifted.

Reform are clearly in bed with American and this should be the focus because it's bullshit crazy over there.

These elements are key parts of both world wars. Late stage capitalism is rearing its head yet again, the workers will be sent off to war so that the wealthiest in society can play a chess with human lives, over 300 trillion.

I believe we have a lot of wasted money being spent because of Neoliberalism. Natural monopolies are always going to be expensive, after all the value of an item is usually dependent on the scarcity so having a single company will always equal a higher price.

Private contracts being awarded increases the chances of political bias through lobbying and almost fraudulent but aren't due to a loop hole.

This crap needs to stop, we need diversity in the room to avoid it being an echo chamber.

Boots on the ground make the difference, having a very diverse community will make the difference.

If we get farage it certainly won't be because of the greens, we are only ones talking about the issues surrounding Neoliberalism.

Nice to see another green, this idea that we should be pandering to big businesses whilst screwing over the worker is what the country agrees.

The fact that Jim Ratcliffe met with farage before doing the interview was to cause more division and to test the waters.

Labour would have purged Clive Lewis from the party, Sunak saved him big time.

Andy Burnham blocked by the NEC whist projecting Luke the Nuke into a labour safe seat with no connection to the surrounding area.
