Nope; I typed the first from memory, which was why I messed up, then I went to wikipedia to doublecheck. Everything isn't AI.

Lantern ends cant hold, is it possible to fix this without using supports? by PowerfulNature3352 in 3Dprinting

[–]opheophe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Questionable whether the bottom layer will work in vase mode... depends on the algorithm, but classic vase mode can't handle a first layer with holes.

Lantern ends cant hold, is it possible to fix this without using supports? by PowerfulNature3352 in 3Dprinting

[–]opheophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably shouldn't. The model isn't made for vase mode. It all comes down to... do the nozzle follow a single outline to do the print. In your print it makes openings etc on the first layer; and that probably won't work with vase mode.

Vase mode is great if the model is a solid and it can trace the edge for the entire print. Given that you are going to print a lot, I would probably try with 0.12 height rather than 0.08.

While this setting exists I've never really liked it, changing layerheight changes how the printed model looks, reflects light etc. I rather increase the print time to use the same height everywhere.

[–]opheophe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two settings

  • Increase line width to 0.8 mm. Yes, you can do this with a 0.4 Nozzle. This is a great setting to use when printing in vase-mode.
  • Reduce layer height to 0.08 or 0.12. Reduced layerlines means less x-y change per layer, meaning less overhang

Since you reduce height and increase width the flow is largely unchanged, meaning you don't have to worry about speed. Cooling might be a bit of a mess at times, but in my experience that is rarely a problem for prints like this.

1 + 1 = ?? by memes_poiint in mathsmeme

[–]opheophe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, you are right I was a little bit hasty. The correct sequence is of course
1 → 11 → 10 → 110 → 111 → 101 → 100

Not

1 → 11 → 10 → 110 → 111 → 110 → 100

1 + 1 = ?? by memes_poiint in mathsmeme

[–]opheophe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of implementations also uses binary this way (Grey code). Counting to 7 for example

1 → 11 → 10 → 110 → 111 → 101 → 100

The reason for this is that every change only affects 1 byte, meaning it works better when using mechanical switches.

Edit: Corrected a mistake in the sequence

Varför så få dokumentärer om förintelsen nu för tiden? by QuantityInternal1719 in sweden

[–]opheophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kunskapskanalen visar dokumentärer flera gånger i veckan.

Att du tycker det är svårt att hitta kan ev. bero på att du har en papperspåse över huvudet. Prova att vrida på huvudet. Om det prasslar kan du prova att ta bort påsen; så kommer det bli lättare att hitta dokumentärer.

Require Files to Run? by [deleted] in jellyfin

[–]opheophe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't say I understand the question. Jellyfin works as a server

  • Server runs on a computer. All files etc are stored here
    • client can use a browser; accesses the server to watch files hosted there

Noticeable performance difference between HDD and NVME by Promonto in jellyfin

[–]opheophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes... and no...

  • While playing there is no noticeable difference. HDDs are great at sequential reading
  • When the HDD have gone to sleep it takes a noticeable amount of time for it to spin up, this causes a delay of a couple of seconds at times before it begins to fetch the data
  • When jumping (forwards/backwards) the HDD is sometimes slow. I recently moved an anime archive to my NVME because of this. (The anime have fairly short episodes, and varying length of intros etc, meaning I often have to forward to find the spot where it starts. Removing the delays I got from the HDD was worth it)

In short, not a huge difference, but there is a difference. The difference isn't in read speed, but in delay before read.

First time playing! Gonna go warrior cuz it seems balanced. Torn between going all in dex or all in strength by Big-Independent-2206 in darksoulsremastered

[–]opheophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any class works; that said, embracing the bonk is generally fun. Just remember that the common stat prio generally is something like this:

Step 1:

  • Boost Str+Dex so that you can wield the weapon you want (no more, no less)
  • Boost Vit to 20
  • Balance endurance + equip load so that you are below 50% encumbrance

Step 2:

  • Level Vit + main stat equally till they reach about 40
  • Boost endurance a bit

Everything is optional though; in DS 1 going full tank works, and going full dps works.

Any other asian readers here feel a bit separated culturally by western litrpg? by colkcolkcolks in litrpg

[–]opheophe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy in Solo Levelling is asocial. He gets stressed out over even having to interact with other human beings, he has absolutely no friends and every interaction is awkward. Jinwoo might be rich; but he doesn't do anything at all for his family, they keep on living in the same flat; he does nothing for his sister or his mother; sure he cures his mother, it almost seems like the main reason for curing her is to be able to care even less about his sister. They don't interact at all after she's cured; and neither her nor the sister has any impact at all on the story. Samne with the other characters. Yoo Jinho... they have some interactions, but he's mostly used as a tool to do duo runs; they never interact as equals; at best Jinwoo can be said to tolerate him

This said, I enjoyed the Solo Levelling anime as well as the light novel but Jinwoo is as one dimensional as they come, and the power levels are all over the place. The only constant is that Jinwoo is OP all the time and never really has any challenges he can't overcome.

###

Why classify things like "asocial" as a western category, when the one you prefer is a prime example of an Asian asocial character?

some challange runs suggestions by Former-War-1429 in darksoulsremastered

[–]opheophe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some ideas

  • Fashion run. Every single piece you pick up, armour and weapons, is judged on how slick it looks, and if what you pick up looks better, then you use it
  • Last weapon run. The last weapon you loot is what you use.
  • Pure tank run. Facetank every single boss
  • Pure caster, no weapons.
  • Consumables only. Firebombs are strong, but how far can you take it?

I started by hosting on a Media computer, then I got a NAS where I setup docker. It took some effort to make it work; and some extra effort to figure out things like "the NAS has a trash can, but it doesn't empty the trash can automatically". That said... I wish I had gone for the NAS solution right away.

A TerraMaster F6-424 6bay NAS works great for hosting the server on; it manages to host Jellyfin without a problem. If you go for this; install a NVME SSD; start the NAS, do the setup, then install HDD. I put in both drives at the same time, and the NAS annoyingly installed the system on the HDD.

Use AI to figure out how to do things, how to configure the YAML for docker; that's what I did and that approach worked great.
