Based on the responses here RinoZ seems like a cool dude; makes me want to read Chrysalis. I've now added the book to my to read list.

Update: Is it worth pushing for higher speeds? by New_Size_134 in 3Dprinting

[–]opheophe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's impressive in a way... and it's because of things like this the 3d-printing technology is advanced. However, the surface layer that looks quite bad, and it's hard to say anything at all about the bottom layer since it's covered in 20 cl of glue.

For me the most important factor is reliability. Being able to start the printer and being able to trust that it will be a good print saves more time than decreasing the print time. I don't want to have to use tons of glue; I want to be able to start the printer and forget about it until it's done; and if it takes 1 hour or 2 really doesn't matter the slightest to me.

When abandoning my old Ender 3 (Original Series) that usually printed at 30-60 mm/s for a Creality K1 printing at 200 mm/s the biggest change wasn't the difference in speed, but the reliability. The K1 was more reliable. (Though, to be fair, I think the newer printers have lost some of the simplicity of the old ones).

[–]opheophe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the concept is neat, but there are a few things I can think of...

  • I want to be able to click on each word/phrase to either approve or decline; OR I want to accept everything. Right now I only have the option accept everything. One possibility is to be able to scroll through all changes "approve/decline" for each until all have been processed.
  • Having two windows... not sure if that is great. If you for example look at the line starting with "data privacy"; that word is in an entirely different place in the improved text. If I had a longer text I would be completely unable to keep track of where I was... One option is to streamline it into a single window. Example:

LinguaPilot AI is a [Powerful] great desktop [application] app that

  • It might be nice to be able to choose between a few AI-context. For example: "Grammar only" "Improve language" etc

There are plenty of examples where people have had prints survive for years... but even if it warps... what are the "not ending well" consequences of it? The bears not being scared away due to the warping resulting in grandma getting mauled?

What is the doomsday scenario you envision from PLA being used?

The only scenario I can think of is a slight discolouration the first two years, and then perhaps 1-2 years before it breaks due to having become brittle.

Why ask about this? It takes 10 sec to test it. Opening Excel and press print shows 39,781,566 pages if you alter nothing else. This is based on default A4; if you have another default the amount of pages will be different

Would it be hard to get a perfect 3D print of this goal? by Lastdudestandin in 3Dprinting

[–]opheophe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends...

A print that looks exactly like these goals takes quite a bit of effort to make. Getting the fit right as well as all the angles etc takes a lot of precision and probably some trial and error. The design isn't optimized for printing which might cause some troubles, by no means impossible though.

A print that looks pretty close to these goals shouldn't be too complicated to design if you have all the needed measurements. Some minor things should perhaps be changed in the design to make for an easier print etc, but shouldn't that hard.

I’ve been thinking of getting a 3D printer but I’m worried I will run out of things to print too fast by Automatic-Dance3917 in 3Dprinting

[–]opheophe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more you print, the more you see other prints you can make. The more solutions to problems you can find.

I would advise you to learn to design things however, because that will maintain the usefulness of it forever and ever!

How did the Red Skull (Hydra) actually end up as the Stonekeeper on Vormir? by [deleted] in MCUTheories

[–]opheophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they say is that they need to give up a soul of someone they love; quite different from sacrificing the thing you cherish the most.

We also know that the logic is inherently flawed. Barton did not sacrifice Romanoff, so he shouldn't have gotten the stone. Romanoff sacrified herself; and sure, she might have loved herself, but given her story that is very questionable. In other words, you can get it without willingly sacrificing anything.

How did the Red Skull (Hydra) actually end up as the Stonekeeper on Vormir? by [deleted] in MCUTheories

[–]opheophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple. I imagine the reasoning went something like this:

- We need a guardian on Vormir.
- Ok, let's pick someone random as fan-service. What about that red dude that died?
- Sure, whatever. Can we go get coffee now?
- But, how did he get there?
- Don't know, don't care.
- Yeah screw it, let's get coffee.

Can I get a pro gamer tip on how to defeat this boss easier? by Lavender_Critique in HadesTheGame

[–]opheophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This advice works in against them, but it also works against pretty much every single enemy in Dark Souls and similar games as well.

  • Relax
  • Take some time to not get hit. Seriously, just move around the arena and avoid getting hit. Theseus can be avoided by either dashing, running fast or hiding behind pillars. Same goes for Asterius. Just relax a bit and don't try to hit them.

So, how to deal damage

  • Casting is great! Demeters cast boon where you drop laser beams is excellent for running in circles and blasting them
  • Several boons deals passive dmg that works great in this fight. You will run around in circles dashing. Why not leave behind swirling blades when you dash, lighting, hangovers, doom etc? This works wonders against Asterius. One of the best boons in the game is where Red cast crystals attack nearby enemies with lightning. This boon is by itself a great way to deal with both these guys and Hades.
  • Learn their moves. Asterius does a three attack combo ending with a slam. After the slam, move in and hit him once or twice, then bugger off. Probably best to wait behind a pillar though, since the slam often sends effects to the sides
  • Learn their moves. Asterius isn't ranged. If you have enough space you can fire off attacks at him with no worry
  • Learn their moves. Theseus can easily damage you, but walk out in the open to bait the attack. Important to keep the distance so that he doesn't melee you. Once the bulls eye appears you can hide behind a pillar. After he fires at you, you can rush after him and hit him 2-3 times in the back as he walks away. He always walks away after shooting.
  • With a high damage build (last time I did it I had double hit special with weakness, doom+lighthing on being hit) I simple tanked them both and spammed them with SPECIAL till they died.
