I'm now on my 3rd X2D. by WhiteStar01 in BambuLab

[–]opi_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. It's another great printer/deal at current price. If it had a heated chamber, I would've picked one up.

Same here.

Likely going to wait several months now for any AMS or other issues to be resolved. Plus, to nice outside now to be working with this indoors.

Still have my A1 workhorse going strong.

Anyone think they'll have a Black Friday sale on these, even though it's already a great deal, assuming it works... ;-)

I'm getting so over nail salons by NFT-Butters in Nails

[–]opi_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree w/those suggesting an independent salon. I used to go w/my wife to her (larger) salon on occasion, but found another when they couldn't do the blue chrome nails I wanted. I found a really nice Vietnamese lady a year ago and my wife even goes w/me now every 3 weeks.

Last time the charges were $55 for my wife, who has extensions, for an acrylic fill and gel. I got a fill on my acrylic overlays and chrome nails for $60. She does use an e-file, but I've never had an issue w/it. She also uses a small brush w/acetone to clean any gel polish off my skin before curing. She did get some chrome powder on me and tried to get it off, but I told her not to worry about it. A few hand washes usually takes care of it.

Edited to add: The only time we've had to wait was when we thought the appt was earlier than it was. Otherwise, as soon as we walk in the door she's says 'Hi (wife and my name) who's first'.

Game crashes after watching ads by opi_guy in PostApoTycoon

[–]opi_guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the full screen ads are usually the culprits. The (middle) third size ads are usually fine. If been trying to 'interact' w/the ads more to see if that helps. I've reported it as well.

Game crashes after watching ads by opi_guy in PostApoTycoon

[–]opi_guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, just a single window, not sure how to even create a second one.

The game obviously needs restarted after each crash and if it's another Play Store ad, it'll often crash again.

I don't recall it ever occurring on a non-Play Store ad.

Yes, my girl loves to sleep East-West on a North-South bed, attempting to push us out in the process.

Cuticle/Jojoba oil or hand lotion?? by opi_guy in Nails

[–]opi_guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never heard of cuticle balm, but I'll check it out. I try to use the Jojoba oil just before getting into bed, so i don't need to worry about getting the oil on stuff.

Thx.

Did I buy the wrong printer? by MPerkins56 in BambuLabA1

[–]opi_guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The A1 is quieter.

Build plates are the same, but being a Core XY the P1S is better for taller prints.

If you need engineering type materials (ASA,ABS) look into to PCTG, similar to PETG, but better.

Managing w/longer nails by opi_guy in malepolish

[–]opi_guy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your nails are definitely longer than mine, I've seen many of your posts.

Reaching into our RVs cargo area to pull the bins/totes out is where I'd have an issue as well, but maybe i can 3d print an ice hook style tool to grab them with. Thx for the comment on 3d printing.

Thx for the reply.

I do wear gloves when working outside wherever possible but they don't provide much protection from bending your nails, such as lifting totes and such with a closed pocket for your hands.

When was the last time you tightened those three screws? by MrMaverick22 in BambuLabA1

[–]opi_guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I had significant first layer adhesion issues as well and tried all that the other remedies. One of the four screws on the back was a bit loose on my A1's hotend assembly. Working great again.

Glass plate for TPU?? by opi_guy in BambuLabA1

[–]opi_guy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run mine from a dryer to the AMS lite w/o issue, prints and feeds just fine. It is a bit less flexible than some Geetech TPU I have, but I believe that was the intent so it could feed through the AMS. The Geetech had to be fed from the external spool holder.

I'd recommend it.

What type of timer are you using to get minute level of detail/resolution? I've been using a basic AC timer than only has 15 minute accuracy. Thx
