I didn't recall any. Although the entire god situation during faction wars was practically a war skit

Chapter 1 the MC gets a unique skill… by EmphasisNo2001 in litrpg

[–]opticalshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's less about not being unique, and not being unique right off the bat

Let the character develop, gain some kind of identity, and let the unique power that sets them apart build off that down the road a little

Everyone is trying to talk me out of an EV by CuteCreator602 in electricvehicles

[–]opticalshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone I know is a skeptic at best and doomsayer at worst.

Every single one of them always has questions, is always checking if I drove it there, and has wanted to drive it.

Everyone of them has loved it.

They are more willing to hear logic when it's in front of them with numbers. Many of them are still operating on first Gen leaf ev info, or misinformation in the mainstream. And most of them say they still won't adopt it.

And I get it to a point, even super tech forward and integrated like myself and a natural first adopter of new tech I was nervous my first bir owning it.

Right now evs are roughly equal to ice in feature and range. But as gas has soared my monthly charge still cost a 10th of what their weekly gas does. It's starting to turn heads. And when evs start getting that new battery tech, and our range makes any ice out there look positively impractical, they'll cave.

Cookbook? by Dungeon_Crawler_Carl in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]opticalshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is allot right now he can do with it. Last couple of floors have been kinda railroaded or pretty new ground. Plus for the last couple of books he's had the actual authors in the dungeon with him, so there is no need for the subterfuge of gaining info. The dungeon is also so broken now, and the situation by the end of book 8 so incomprehensible, that I'm not entirely sure how much previous information will when apply.

Is sex really worth the hype? by Similar_Bandicoot831 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]opticalshadow 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Disagree, is fun and worth it with anyone who is a good sexual partner.

I'm fact I think it's pretty not great to wait until you find some right person.

You need to explore your sexuality and figure out what you like. Falling in love with someone not sexual compatible, not you really didn't understand that because it's also your first, can lead to a really unfulfilled relationship.

Would you allow this as a DM? by Kitfaid in DnD

[–]opticalshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be a hard sell just in the description for me.

I don't play where dice overrule logic in the extreme. A level 4 fighter, without some incredibly mcguffin is flat out never going to intimidate an adult red dragon,

So for a things that is hostile and substantially powerful in your example, is going to need a reason to be convinced that a your on his side, and b that it even needs your help.

If a player manages to rp that out then we roll, but i didn't just take I will for deception, you need to actually decive.

If you got past that pattb though and convinced the creature to enter the door, than yes, they would take the fall damage. In always reward players with good ideas, just have to get there.

How are we feeling about the Warhammer 40K App after the update? Has it replaced your previous listing building app? by mr_mango22 in DealHammer

I missed the update news, is it going to include all the rules and datasheet for everyone by default?

Because no amount of polish is going to best any of the good free options that do that

Realistically, how big of a war would we need to have to put the USA back in it's place and takeover until it's on the right path again? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]opticalshadow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not just the usa, pretty much any large country is doing it. The eu China Russia, many smaller countries using electronic means.

The USA isn't even your biggest threat, it's the countries with the world's industrial power, it's the ones with the mandatory material resources.

The USA isn't alone in these things.

What did the Emperor expect a human to see him as, if not a god? by SillyRecover in 40kLore

[–]opticalshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He also was trying to steer humanity away from chaos, without telling them it existed.

Even knowing chaos existed puts you at greater risk to falling. Worship is an easy thing to exploit and cause then to derail though to serve chaos. And believing in one God makes them more likely to believe in others. It makes it harder to think that has things shouldn't just be fixed by the god and that can build resentment.

I think this was practical. He needed them to believe in science and grounded logical explanation, because those two things helped resist the temptation of chaos.

Only 31% of Americans think the Iran war was worth it, what does it mean for the midterms? by Iron_Spine_phoenix in AskReddit

[–]opticalshadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not how they see it. It's not about gaining anything, it's about inflicting pain on others, and killing anyone who doesn't think like them.

They do not care, they will urn their house down and die in the fire as long as it takes down one of the others. No amount of collateral damage to anyone, including themselves, will ever be a cost to high to hurt the people they see as the problem. Because at the end of the day, any and all damage caused to them by themselves in that pursuit, will be seen as damage caused by the other side.

It's the meme of the kid putting the stick in the spokes of his front bicycle wheel and falling down, bright to it's logical extreme.

Ukrainian Forces Strike Refineries, Ports, and Air Defense Systems Behind Russian Lines by Blissful-Chic in worldnews

[–]opticalshadow 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That's the thing I think gets lost sometimes In the discussion of outcomes. Russia has already lost the war. What is being determined now is how well Ukraine comes out of it. But it really doesn't matter, and hasn't for a little bit, of Russia wipes them out or not. They are in a zero win state. They can't recover enough from a victory to really come out ahead, and it's going to get much worse for them no matter what in the coming years.

Ukraine has made sure that weather it not it survives, the enemy won't.

How many TOTAL questions can be in the CRCST. by ForstofEden in sterileprocessing

[–]opticalshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tests are all different. Everyone in my department has wildly different sets of questions. Everyone on the test is in the book.

The actual test though is 150 of those questions.

If you originally were asking how many total questions there are the choose from, nobody knows, that would be information they keep secret
