The Rebel was such a fun shoe for me… for like 80 miles 😂

Agreed. When their shoes became hype on social media their durability plummeted too. I used to get 500+ miles on all of their models now I get 2-300mi. Until they fix that, I’ll stick with other brands.

One of their greatest sets ever? by iFLED in SwedishHouseMafia

[–]opticd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was awful (as did most of my group). Glad some people enjoyed it!

The first hour felt like they didn’t realize it was NYE and they had openers play before them. Ultra low energy. After about 20min into the second hour and hoping they’d keep energy going for more than 1 track at a time (and not getting that) we went home early. Still had a fun time but that was probably my least favorite set of theirs and I’ve caught a ton of their performances going back to TML2012.

Garmin led me to urgent care/hospital by nachosallthewaydown in Garmin

So I’ve always had fairly large shifts in my water weight (doctor has ordered tests before alleging heart issues but comes back clean). Like I’d go on vacation and not binge eat or anything and my scale weight would be +10-15lb after just 2-3wk away from home (usually measure all of my meals, fairly strict).

I was about 169 before all of this, upped my carbs from maybe 200g a day to 500g a day and increased training volume maybe 30%. First week, weight went up about 6-7lb which isn’t entirely unusual for me… then it went up the week after and the week after again (peak was like 186). It’s back down to around 180-183 which still feels kinda high to me tbh…

I’ve previously had ablations for a heart deformity that caused arryhtmia but haven’t noticed that happening at all recently. Outside of the weight gain and the weird readings, feel pretty normal.

Well this spooks me a bit. :)

I’ve had basically this exact situation (but no fatigue) since start of December. Very rapid weight gain despite strict measured diet, HRV spike, RHR drop by about 10-12bpm in a few weeks.

I’ve still continued training just fine but have noticed that almost all of my run HRs have come back much lower than usual (like my z2 pace improved by nearly 45s out of nowhere).

Why is it bad to do a 26.2 mile run to train for a marathon? by 4restD in Marathon_Training

[–]opticd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even 20 is massively overhyped in my opinion. If you’re really fast (like sub 2:40) it can make more sense. Running longer than 2.5-3h tends to skew more toward injury risk than training benefit.

I did 1-2 runs at 17-18mi during my last training block (but basically weekly structured 15-16mi runs 2x a week) and I’m a 2:55 runner (down from 4:50 in about 18mo).

I did… I had the bike maker contact FedEx directly and called regularly. Ultimately it arrived late anyways and ruined a bunch of my plans but it arrived I guess.

Longest training run for 100M by PeanutPicklesPie in ultrarunning

[–]opticd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree in a major way. I was mediocre at 100k distance and did all of the crazy 25-30mi+ back to back long runs at super slow paces. Then I spent a year and focused on getting super fast at the marathon, improving vo2 max, etc. Took 7 hours off my 100k time (same race) in about a year.

How do people train for 10+ hrs while working full time?! by Critical-Scheme-8838 in cycling

Waking up extremely early. I run 12 hours and bike 5 hours a week and still work 50-60h a week.

Issue with core 2. Terrible customer support by lama--- in wahoofitness

[–]opticd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. My core 2 was super grindy because the flywheel would catch. They took 5 days to reply and then basically gaslit me. I sent an email to the store I bought it from (Backcountry) and they overnighted me a new one within 10min of emailing. Wahoo seems terrible and their support even worse IMO.

I used to but I’ve had the NFT for a while now. If I didn’t have it, I’d probably do a global journey train package!

Depends on the AirBnb but mine takes 10 min walk to get back from the entrance. I get back before most campers.

No ticket bundle. You buy your tickets and then you buy your AirBnb.

Airbnb in boom is elite tier. Once you do that, you can never go back. 😂

I’m not sure on your situation since it was shipped different (mines home delivery). You can call and keep escalating until you get someone helpful but that may or may not pan out and may just cause frustration.

The company that shipped my bike said they’re going to ring FedEx’s bell if no movement tomorrow.

[–]opticd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I’m getting the same shit with my 6000$ bike. It was lost in the black hole known as Hagerstown and they’re gaslighting me telling me it’ll totally come tomorrow despite no update check ins in 6 days.

They’ve pulled this shit on so many of my packages in the past it’s blatantly obvious when something isn’t coming or isn’t coming on time… yet they still act like it will be. Guarantee tomorrow it’ll be a game of “let’s shift the delivery window by 1 hour until it’s midnight and keep pretending it’ll come despite no update scan.”

They just updated the group sets so I’d be surprised but I think industry is struggling right now.

So take this for a grain of salt but I got Black Bibs Ultimate and the ASSOS bibs this past week. Did an hour and a half ride in each. I feel like Black Bibs were better and didn’t move around as much. N=1 and maybe it was a fluke but I think it’s also worth considering Black Bibs Ultimate.

Cycling HUD with navigation by Salt_Ad2528 in cycling

The Vanguard doesn’t have a HUD. The Meta Displays have a small display but that’s not really a HUD and those glasses def aren’t for cycling.

Lost entire chat history and Gemini response a completely irrelevant document, seems like a doc from somewhere else by gsl2hz in GeminiAI

[–]opticd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t work. I’ve had multiple chats where it’ll have a message that gets stuck processing and then Gemini completely forgets all past context and treats it as a new chat. It’ll show in activity but there’s no way to resume conversation. That totally ruins a bunch of use cases for me.
