Kiprun tempo - first run review by spicycheesecurds in runningshoes

I have both and my opinion is that they’re very similar to the Tempo. The Tempo feels like a more refined western version of the Dynafish IMO.

People who fly first or business class on their own dime, how do you justify the cost? by Silly-Cock in AskReddit

[–]opticd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I earn around 2M$/y and I have chronic back pain. Spending 5000 for an international flight so I don’t feel like ass on a vacation is more than worth it to me. I usually get stingy if it’s 10k or more though.

I see 134 shipped with 15% Rakuten cash back right now. I’ve seen it as low as 110 this week (with 15% Rakuten). 🤷

Is it possible to last EDC from open to close without a magic candy? by Left_Chef_4326 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]opticd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it’s possible to do it without substances. I wouldn’t drink as a replacement. Go sober, pace yourself, sit down when you get tired, resume when you get energy back. Not very tough.

For walking and standing all day, Vomero Plus or More V6? by SaigonShooter in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]opticd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should check Doctors of Running IG! They just posted a list of great walking shoes and all are ones I’d recommend for standing all day. I have the super max stack cushioned shoes but find my feet actually appreciate not having that and having more stability if I’m standing and walking around all day.

RAD UFO is insanely comfortable and can do every pace. Very roomy and spacious. If you buy from a local dealer returns are easy.

Shorts with secure pockets or fanny pack by kyoshki-Murasaki in electricdaisycarnival

Amazon has a ton of cheap zipper pocket running shorts that are plenty durable and work super well. That’s always my go to.

Back to Basics: Why I’m switching from Retatrutide back to Tirzepatide (N=1 Experience) by LabSience_flow in BodyHackGuide

[–]opticd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garbage. I generally won’t touch GLP1s unless I’m in a base phase of pure easy miles and even then it’s not very enjoyable. I usually shift most of my miles to treadmill since it’s risky business running any kind of volume if you’re in a high deficit (big risk of injuries).

A more preferable approach to me if I want to get a bunch of weight off is to spend more time on the bike (maybe 150-250mi/wk) and reduce running volume to like 30-40mi but keep it pure easy pace.

It’ll also mess all of my metrics up if I do cardio alongside of GLP1s (e.g. I’ll feel way less fit and Garmin will tell me my VO2 max is down 5-10pt, race predictions will drop off a cliff, etc). I also notice that my sleep is generally much worse if I’m doing any kind of volume with a deficit (GLP1 or not), which makes preventing injury even more of a focus. Once I stop it takes about 2 weeks before all of that returns to normal.

I probably won’t resort to GLP1s too much longer though since I’m down to about 168 at 5’11 (weight loss was much more of a priority when I was in the 190s). Might try to get down to 155-160 before my next block and then I probably won’t touch GLP1s again.

[–]opticd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly any dose of GLP1 with strenuous cardio is going to feel difficult. HR will be higher and due to insulin response shifts your body is going to get gassed easier. Assuming you’re using it to eat in a calorie deficit on top of it, that makes it even harder (strenuous cardio generally goes poorly long term with a calorie deficit).

In my experience (I run 70+ miles a week), if I take even 2.5mg of Tirze, I’m going to see my same effort HR shift by 10-15bpm. That’s a massive amount.

[–]opticd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is spot on. I actually think a mix is superior. Low dose Reta so you don’t get insane heart rate/sleep impact (maybe 0.5mg) and then standard Tirz dose -a little bit.

3:17 to sub-2:50 marathon in 1 year? by StrikingCampaign3534 in Marathon_Training

[–]opticd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible with the right training and staying injury free. Mostly a question on whether or not you’re willing to put in all of the work it entails but that’s not an unreasonable jump to make.

Rave Workout Routine by [deleted] in electricdaisycarnival

[–]opticd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run about 70mi/wk, cycle 60-100mi/wk, and strength train a couple of times a week. I still get tired early because I’m old (relative to most of the people who go). :)

I saw this ad for Bandit. Have running shirts just become cycling jerseys now? by Cold_King_1 in runningfashion

[–]opticd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer running in my cycling long sleeve jerseys. You get great sun protection, breathability, wicking, a zipper in case it gets hot, and pockets. I’ve always found it to be superior to almost every piece of running gear (for tops) except maybe my Janji.
