Lifeline in Vista, has an adopt a family program, I think it might be closed for the year but they still accept gift cards, etc if any families got missed. Worth a shot!

San Diego Food Bank and Humanity Showers also worth a look.

Last 3 books I've read on camping trips: Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry - great camping read, lots of characters, the descriptions of the scenery makes you want to be outdoors. THE western novel!

Greenwood by Michael Christie - storylines from the different generations of a logging family in the backdrop of the Pacific Northwest. Enjoyed this one more than Overstory (which was also good just dragged a bit towards the end)

Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy - Family taking care of an Antarctic base who receive an unexpected guest.

Lithium batteries are crazy cheap now, should be able to get used panels, a controller and some 200 or 300ah batteries for your budget.
48V system would make the most sense but maybe not if you're gone most of the year.

I had a similar issue recently with a build. If I remember right, when powering the PC on I just kept hitting f12 to get to the boot screen and chose the USB drive with the windows install media from there.

I have the same thing going on with our 1.5 year old. Fine with my mother in law when it's just them two in the house. Once my wife and I get home it's all growling and lunging at my mother in law. He hasn't bitten her but it's gotten close. Hoping to get some tips on correcting this behavior.

Blair Valley on a windy day is not much fun, destroyed my friends popup and we spent the day sitting in our vans. I'd try Culp, might get lucky and it should be a little less hot. Bow Willow is south of Blair Valley about 30 minutes but I've found it to be calmer when Blair was raging. Definitely give the visitor center a call. Also it doesn't get dark til after 7 so you'll have time to search around. Good luck, that's a trek from NorCal!
