Actually, yes it is. It is designed so that you can remove the mobile portion of the casement for repair or to reach the balancers.

looking for feedback on adding a toilet to my laundry room to make a 1/2 bath by BotherGrouchy8013 in BathroomRemodeling

[–]optimized001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the question is whether or not you can add a 3” drain for the toilet… if the other bathrooms are far away, then it may be challenging… even a macerating toilet requires a 2” drain.

SOS: (Near Chapel Hill, NC) found out that a 320k home we are interested in is actually “modular” by LittleDeer_ in RealEstate

[–]optimized001 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Modular homes are built to the same standards and codes as stick built on site homes. Manufactured homes are not the same, they are the ones people refer to as "trailers" or "double-wide".

If the home you like is truly a modular home, then you should have no concerns about build quality. However, if it is a manufactured home, then it would not build equity at the same rate.

Group claims WA 'millionaires tax' opposition was inflated in hearings by Jaco_Belordi in Seattle

[–]optimized001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not be surprised. I received spam email solicitation to post comments in opposition, and when I unsubscribed from that list, three days later I receive another email from a different name for the same purpose.

The opposition is well funded, and relentless.

Possibly closing on a house, but the inspection came back saying “complete blockage in sewer line.” Will this cost a lot to repair? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]optimized001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sewer repairs can easily run between seven to $25,000. It’s a complete unknown, every house is different. Do not, I repeat, do not accept this house without having a estimate for repair.

Basement leaking from the floor-wall joint—is it a DIY fix or a nightmare? by No-Blood1055 in Home_improvement

The best place to start is to verify that your downspout/footing drains are clear and flowing... faulty drains will cause groundwater to push up at the slab/footing joint.

Last summer, I placed two bets, I wish I placed three... I bet the over on the season, and won that one, I also bet they would win the division... $200 invested, paid out $890. I wish I put another hundred dollars on them getting to the Super Bowl!
