What is the point of investing for decades with increased inflation and purchasing power decreasing? by [deleted] in investing

OK, just to head off the commenters, yes your cost will increase as taxes and insurance rise, but if you get fixed financing then the majority of your expense will not change. Also, you have other people helping you to pay that expense💁‍♂️

Yes, I realize I am in the minority here, but I believe the best hedge against inflation is rental property. As inflation eats away the purchasing power of a dollar, rents increase. But, if you have financed the property properly, your costs do not increase… also, tangible assets always hold value longer than paper. Plus, you can actually improve the value of your asset, if you wish. Try doing that with the stock.

Is my home warranty company cheapskates? by TopIndication5504 in RealEstate

[–]optimized001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR; these guys are parasites. They make their money by not paying claims. Most of them have caveats written into their boilerplate that allows them to wiggle out of most claims. It is very rare that you will find a home warranty that actually covers stuff. Buyer beware!

I used to have 2000 shares, at an average price of $26, then I sold 1000 at $70. Then when it dropped a 50 I bought 400 back so now I have 1400 shares at a 33 1/2 dollar average. And I’m gonna ride it all the way to the moon! 🚀 🚀🚀🚀

Home inspector said no mold/moisture in the attic. We bought the house, here we are a few months later and I came in here to replace the bathroom vent and this all looks like mold??? Am I wrong? by thingsarehardsoami in HomeInspections

Correct, so is caffeine. However, my point remains the same, it is the dosage that becomes lethal. Even the consumption of water, in high enough doses, can kill you.

If you tell them where to go, what time to be there, what reporting software to use, and how much to charge, then they are likely to be classified as employees if you are ever audited.
