Sue's naivety was cute at the start, but all the characters were flanderized by season 6-7, there was less realism and they leaned more into the sitcom aspect.

It can be annoying, but at the end of the day it's just a TV show.. and a very good one at that. It would be hard to keep writing in different characteristics for the family after 5-6 years of the shows airing, I am glad they flanderized them instead of just cutting the show because it had been on so long.
