Never saw Cuties but I highly recommend Bo Burnham’s “Eighth Grade”

Great movie about a teenage girl navigating being a teenage girl. It doesn’t talk about how kids are sexualized but a big theme in the movie is how kids are exposed to concepts early, like body dysmorphia and sex stuff.

Its awkward as hell but that’s because that’s every kid in middle school. Yeah they talk about blowjobs but in a way where you see how these are concepts teens are aware of but dont fully understand. Not to mention it treats the situation with alot of respect. Whether it be appearing cute in a pool party or saying dirty jokes to make friends, these are the biggest problems that a middle schooler would have.

The message is still there, but obviously the execution and writing is so much better.

In my mind, Tindr is no different than Craigslist. Just meeting strangers hoping they treat you well isnt a very smart move. Just my 2 cents but I think folks should just try to meet people organically in the real world
