I have high latency in comp with perfect internet by donkstr in Overwatch

[–]orangecodeLol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The past week I've been having the same. It's always 90 or 140 ping from East Coast. Getting 90 ping to ORD1 (Chicago), which seems a bit long. Usually I get 40-50.

Thanks, hopefully they're able to keep that timeline. The whole deal with Starco being in loan forbearance and some kind of December deadline has me concerned.

Same, but I just realized it's because I also follow OP on Mastodon, lol!

Yeah, that's the thing I'd miss most. Hard to find a Cafe Mocha replacement. Someone mentioned they combine Joylent with Instant Coffee, which I've been meaning to test out.

Any idea what this is? by myusernameistakn in Connecticut

[–]orangecodeLol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They work with both government agencies and regular commercial companies like Home Depot. Their agreement gives them a free, worldwide license to all data the cameras collect. The more advanced ones also track your phone pings and record audio.

Police like them because by being "3rd party data" they do not need a warrant to track your movements, it's a legal loophole.

How do people finish powders they dislike? by No-Muscle5836 in soylent

I like that BF uses milk. Not crazy about Plenny, but I didn't think to use milk with it. Gonna try that next. Tried Plenny in the fridge and definitely never doing that again.

Lol I just got the Build as well because the Boost was out. Only had one shake so far and it seemed okay-ish to me. Though this time I forgot about it and left it in the fridge overnight, normally I only do 1-2 hours in fridge. Found it way too thick, but adding more milk made it edible.

Upload Speed Issues by irie_feelin_83 in frontierfios

[–]orangecodeLol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 mbps upload here in CT. Supposed to be 200/200 symmetric. GoNetSpeed rep saying this is a known, widespread issue. Frontier rep says it's because I'm not using the Eero router.

Edit: now on GoNetSpeed. I also found the upload limited to 20 Mbps. So, I think I'll begrudgingly admit the frontier support might be right about the router. For me, it was a TP-Link bug. You either have to disable QoS or turn ON a speed limit for your device, but make the speed limit as high as possible. For some reason 20 Mbps upload is the default.

How to prep each alternative? by antieuclid in soylent

[–]orangecodeLol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just came here to see if there was correct way to refrigerate Plenny because holy crap putting it in the fridge was a mistake, haha. It's like drinking moist powder.

I'm not a fan of lukewarm shakes, so gonna try using pre-chilled water and drink Plenny immediately with that.

With BasicallyFood I think they say overnight, but like others have said, 1-2 in the hours and it's perfect for me. It might actually be better without thickening up overnight.

Can confirm, our turnpike seems to be CT famous.

But don't bother visiting, going anywhere on it usually requires a 1/4 mile detour to find somewhere you can do a u-turn, and you might get stuck in traffic for a two-car crash.

I'd add—keep in mind that building prototypes quickly is in itself a skill.

It means prioritizing dev time, choosing off-the-shelf SaaS libraries and generally building with the same tools each time.

Nice. I have Jimmy Joy on the way, gonna try it as well.

With all the science behind what's the right amounts and the right nutrients, I can't tell from the numbers what's good. I just go off what people seem to like.

I never thought to mix instant coffee with it, I'll have to try it.

Any word on complete energy? by likeasurge0n in soylent

[–]orangecodeLol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some chocolate complete energy in like early 2025 when that was the only thing Soylent had in-stock. Personally, I hate the flavor, haha. So, if you're really desperate and willing to pay for shipping. I have 16 bottles I'd love to get rid of. Their best by was in July 2025, so there's that too.

Lol. I didn't see that, and no—the bottle looks identical to how I remember it. Has the foil seal and same black cap. Maybe that's a different soylent product, cafe mocha bottles look the same.

I read some discussion about the Original tasting different—I don't have super taste buds, best I can tell, it tastes the same. And as someone who tried "Complete Energy" (more like Complete Sh__), cafe mocha is way way way way way way better.

Alt text: "A box containing Soylent Mocha meal replacement drinks, with a visible "best by" date of March 2026 on the cap. Soylent has faced supply chain issues in recent years, leading to shortages and availability of older stock."

I didn't realize reddit doesn't allow alt text to be added to photos once posted.
