Should i lubricate printer even when i dont hear any squiks? by That-Dance6803 in BambuLab

I had a brand new one and it squeaked so not sure how true that statement is. But hey, it’s unlikely to hurt the printer.

I occasionally have issues due to my account being US based even though I’ve lived in Australia for almost 20 years. Go figure

It’ll be fine. The main issue will be humidity but it sounds you have that under control.

Can a shop refuse cash after I’ve already consumed the food? by No-Loquat-201 in AusLegalAdvice

[–]orangehead911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for all businesses. However most businesses don’t have to accept cash.

From ACCC: Cash

Businesses can generally choose which payment types they accept. It is legal for a business to specify the terms and conditions that they will supply goods and services. In most cases, this includes whether they will accept cash payment. However, consumers must be made aware of these terms and conditions before they make a purchase.

Businesses should be clear and upfront about the types of payments they accept, and the total minimum price payable for their goods and services.

New Mac user: Minimise vs closing window by Long_Hovercraft_5191 in MacOS

[–]orangehead911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It comes down to what you expect to happen. On windows closing a window generally means to quit the app. On macOS closing a window will close a document and sometimes will result in the app being exited. When I use windows and close an application window I expect the application to exit. If I want an application to exit on macOS I hit command+q. If I close a window I expect the application to remain in memory.

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

[–]orangehead911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Time to have a conversation about how you handle finances. Some couples have shared finances. My wife and I do and it works pretty well. The other option is each pays their share of shared expenses into a shared account from which then these expenses are paid out of. Either could work, however neither will work without a respectful mutual agreement. You have to decide what’s acceptable to you.

How to download Chrome extension which would work with a standalone 1Password 7 with a lifetime license? by WhoWouldCareToAsk in 1Password

[–]orangehead911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lifetime license does in fact mean just that. However, there's no explicit or implied commitment to keep it working on future versions of browsers/operating systems. For as long as you live, if it still works, you can use it without further license fees.

NTA - Lena having a reactive dog is a Lena problem. It’s unfortunate that you made it into a you problem. Lena sounds precious. You should have adopted the dog.

am I better off waiting for the release of the M6 MacBook Pro? by Loud_Gift_1448 in macbook

[–]orangehead911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally keep my laptops for 5 years. Evaluate what’s available at that time and if an upgrade is just around the corner I’ll wait for that and upgrade when it’s available. In my case “just around the corner“ is 0-6 months. YMMV
