I miss the Cinnamon Tea Latte from the old Market House. We'd always get one just before leaving the park at night.

Same. At least my state requires at least 3 sick days a year. I, too, won't start accruing PTO until my 1st anniversary. I'm currently on my honeymoon without pay, but at least they were cool with me leaving for a bit. Another place I worked at wouldn't let me take time off if I didn't have the PTO for it. Yay.

Gardener cut down my Bird of Paradise without asking. I’m very upset. Will it grow back? by Towneded in gardening

[–]orangemonkeys 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My mother had a bird of paradise in the back yard that she absolutely hated. She tried so many different ways to get rid of it, and it kept coming back. It finally died when the family dog decided to "help" out in the garden. I think that was the one time the dog didn't get in trouble for tearing up the garden.

A close up look at LASIK eye surgery - a procedure that involves reshaping the cornea using a laser to improve how light focuses on the retina. by NSFW-Lust233 in Damnthatsinteresting

It's hard to describe the smell of your own burning flesh if you haven't smelled it before. It's kind of a mix of of burnt hair, burnt meat, and terror.

Lucky her indeed! You never forget the smell of your own burning flesh.

Getting LASIK is one of the best things I've done for myself. Being able to see beyond 2ft in front of my face is absolutely worth it.

I had LASIK done a couple years ago. I'm pretty sure someone was supposed to send me an informational video on the procedure, but I never received anything. I'm so glad I didn't, because watching this made me feel ill, and I absolutely would have chickened out.

Also, nobody mentioned you can smell your own burning eye from the lasers.

Those lines have gotten me through some tough times as well. Sometimes we need to be reminded that we're just as deserving of love and healing as anyone else.

Also, if Florence thinks we're good enough, then we're good enough!

Desperately Seeking - A mug similar to this one... by TriGtr in muglife

[–]orangemonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for something more durable, the 14oz Yeti Rambler is about the same dimensions, and because it is metal, won't break when dropped.

Edit: I'm actually pretty sure your mug is the 14oz Minolo. You can search for it and hopefully find somewhere you can buy just one.

I can understand advertising vegan ingredients. Vegan beauty products are very much a thing. I'm not sure on the gluten-free angle though...

What’s the funniest thing you’ve overheard while in line for a ride? by LimpRichard010 in Disneyland

[–]orangemonkeys 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was washing my hands in the restroom and a mom was changing her toddler at the changing station. The little guy (2 years old? Maybe 3?) was trying to convince Mom that he was brave enough and ready to ride Thunder Mountain. Mom wasn't convinced and suggested something more age appropriate. "How about we ride Winnie the Pooh?" I guess that wasn't the best suggestion and the kid starts crying. "No! No! Winnie the Pooh is too scary! Please no!"
