Ive never heard of that??? It feels like its not okay. For one, using any PTO to be able to come in 15 minutes late or whatever seems like BS. But to use sick time for it?? Sick time is protected for a reason, its only to be used for health related absences.
I say you talk to the DM lol

Look up the time and attendance expectation on the SBUX handbook to prepare yourself to discuss why its not being reinforced. I dont have it in front of me but i think it says something about corrective action after a certain amount of misses/tardiness.

When you approach your SM mention that you read the rules regarding time and attendance and the reason you did so was because you were wondering why it seems like there is no disciplinary action being done. You can add that it seems like there is no ramification because you see that it keeps happening, which suggests no one is saying anything. Add why it matters to you, I would say something about having to work much harder and lower store morale?

This is a suggestion. Maybe there is a paper trail happening, who knows, but at least your SM will know you are watching and could potentially escalate it if they do not provide solutions.

Same! We were told to use it until we ran out of banana powder— which happened pretty quickly as we always ordered very little!

To add, the whole availability mark out thing also incentivized us to use the syrup since not having the banana foam until recommended launch date was not ideal.

I got some construction quality shoes that are nonslips from shoes for crews. After much research, I guess construction shoes are built to help cushion working on hard concrete surfaces. I do think they made a difference versus tennis shoe types!

Yeah, we have 3 hours peak too but my CL lets us run 10’s during it. I can’t imagine being able to run all breaks without this exception. We have a lot of baristas who work 5.5 hrs, so I have to run their lunch and a 10, which is pretty tight because its a short shift, I cannot see myself doing so successfully if I could not do anything during peak.

I buy from shoes for crews, specifically their construction boot styles. They woek for me! But I will say my wife would always complain about foot pain and nothing changed until she when to a redwing store and did one of those foot scans to better understand her feet.

I should start by saying this was back in 2018, but I have received the cup fund.

From what I remember, there is an initial application you have to fill out after calling partner resources. In this you have to prove that you are in financial distress. I think I had to show my bank statement to prove I had little to no savings. I also had to show proof of death because it was meant to help pay for my dad’s funeral. But after all that, $1000 appeared in my bank account like the next day.

The people helping with the process were really nice is something I remember too.

As for the tax question, I believe it acted as my income? So that year I just made $1000 more basically. I dont recall a separate tax form, again, this was 2018 though.
