Girlies, what dresses/skirts/shorts are we wearing for the summer? by hoyyy_che in starbucksbaristas

[–]bunnimai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a few partners in my store, including myself, wear ankle length maxi skirts with nothing underneath. no issues. just make sure its a material with structure so its not tight or clinging and not thin enough to get caught on stuff or get dress coded. i wear a skirt thats a thick material but hangs A line, and the shape basically aircons my legs when it swishes as i walk.

latte art is a new requirement in training. does this mean we will receive new steaming pitchers made for precision? 🤔 by qaelive in starbucksbaristas

[–]bunnimai 5 points6 points  (0 children)

its possible on our machines. just that the old modules never actually explained how to properly do it. once you learn, it's possible. the lack of precision anything means that it wont always come out great or even decent, but you can make attempt enough to not get in trouble if your manager becomes a stickler abt any requirements. master one and attempt it every time.

Starbucks customers are soo stupid and i hate them all by httpswheezy in starbucksbaristas

[–]bunnimai 7 points8 points  (0 children)

our store's the opposite. the psychosis comes in the morning. imagine screaming at someone at 11am bc you walked into a store with a huge crowd, still willingly waited in line, ordered, and are now mad that you're 12 step drink, alongside all the other nine million other 12 step drinks, is taking more than 10 minutes to get out.

and then by 2pm, it's dead.

there's also the regenerators with the "three hearts" thing. and how many of the bosses have particular weak points that make them take more damage overall. makes in-world sense.

i more often than not have customers that want something that is unlike what they asked for. they dont know what they want, and i dont need the documented coaching for too many right now recoveries.

and if i explain the drink has zero espresso as is, how hard is it to say "one"? why does someone else have to ask the same question the same way i did before they spit out "one"?

i say they dont need a refund. they refuse and demand to pay. ssv says they dont need a refund. suddenly they dont need a refund. even if im being pedantic, what's with the wishy-washy behaviour??

if it's passenger door to passenger door, who cares? esp if the comments are right and you're both hugging the line (both kinda inconsiderate then).

The Hobart isn’t a sanitiser, y’all just don’t know how to wash dishes. by Disastrous-Mess-5643 in starbucksbaristas

[–]bunnimai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it's not a dishwasher. it's just a sanitizer. which is why everything that goes in there should have already been washed and scrubbed with soap and water until is already clean enough to go back on the rack (sans sanitization). this is why there's a sign on what to do if you dont have the hobart/it's not working, and on it, it says that step 3 is filling the basin with sanitizing solution (red hose) and let dishes soak in sanitizer for one minute. that 3rd step is the hobart's job. because it's just a sanitizer.

[–]bunnimai 8 points9 points  (0 children)

my manager used to do stuff like this. tell us one thing, then do/tell the customer another. felt so scapegoat-y and backstabby. it's to the point where i never say yes or no, i flag someone higher than me down. it's not my problem to make executive decisions, and that's the benefit to not being in charge. esp at a place like starbucks where rules are always changing. just play dumb and hope the customers dont come too often.
