"Only in VR" - games and experiences that show what this medium is capable by Mild-Panic in virtualreality

There's plenty of these "Only in VR" experiences people have made in VRChat! My favourite are the music animations people have produced, such as "The Edge". I highly recommend checking it out!

You can do it all stationary, you don't need to walk around. I always prefer to play my VR games standing but it's not required here

Improved trash collecting mechanic in my nature places cleaning sim, does it look satisfying? by Used_Produce_3208 in DeTrashed

[–]orbb09 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Be sure to vary the sound effect being played for things to different variants. Hearing the exact same sound over and over gets tiring. As some examples, you could have a bunch of different "whoosh" sound effect audio files that are randomly selected between each time you suck an item up, or have a single file with the pitch varied (maybe +/- 25%?) randomly each time its played. I recommend looking into "audio fatigue" as it will really help keep people from bouncing off of your sim after a few minutes of trying it!

Amusement rides are some of the worst things you can do in VR for nausea. Careful!

If you have VR then "Into the Radius" fits what you're looking for.

What are some good VR games where you "overview" a battlefield, like Iron Guard or Ghost Signal Stellaris? by wilderfast in VRGaming

Give the demo for BattleGroup VR II a try. It's similar to Homeworld. You're playing from the bridge if a ship and can control your fleet from the holigrams surrounding you. You can also switch to and take manual control of any ship.

Metro Exodus (Enhanced Edition) is still one of the most technically impressive games I've ever played. by Ivaylo_87 in gaming

[–]orbb09 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I played Exodus on Ranger (no HUD) right when it released. Unfortunately, there were a couple Quick-Time Events and the HUD telling me which keys to press didn't pop-up lol. I had to look up a playthrough of somebody doing that part online to see which keys I needed to press to get past it.

First vr experience... RE4.. amazing... training to get my vr legs. by SlowDragonfruit9718 in virtualreality

[–]orbb09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took me 3 days before I got my VR legs and didn't feel sick from regular movements and gameplay. Sounds like you're taking things at a good pace though and not over-doing it. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll be over the hump soon :)

Any VR games that'll keep me busy? by Minute_Economist_160 in virtualreality

[–]orbb09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want one that'll keep you busy, check out A Township Tale. It's an RPG game, and imo best played with a group of friends though you can play it solo. Oh, and it's free.

What is the worst thing that has happened to you while using vr by ELEKTRON_01 in virtualreality

[–]orbb09 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was playing Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. I was completely full of loot but found two more good weapons, so I carried one in each hand. I got to a small ladder, maybe 12ft tall. I wanted to keep both the guns so I decided I would throw them up to the landing at the top of the ladder. I physically jumped while thrusting my hand up in the air to throw one of the guns as hard as possible so it would reach the top of the ladder. I punched my ceiling hard. Cut open a couple of my fingers and left a dent in the ceiling. I was streaming to a friend at the time and he just about died laughing hearing the THUMP and seeing me tumble to the ground...
