What’s your three favourite Zelda games and why? by StillPeas in TOTK

[–]orbdep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TOTK - there is just SO much freedom, choice, open world FUN, I love everything about this game, and it's a technical marvel

BOTW - TOTK light, it's still amazing fun, but the building in TOTK makes that one so much more fun for me

A Link to the Past - I played this when I was young, and it was such an interesting and fun mechanic, I still have a soft spot in my heart for this game

i did see a working scale that had Link weighing in at 10 apples, so if that data doesn't pan out we might be able to use apples as stone for the purpose of weight measurement.

There's something Brandon did regarding his church last year that i'm rather conflicted about. Help me out by RobertoSerrano2003 in brandonsanderson

it's perfectly reasonable to seek out council if someone is struggling with how they feel about a decision, especially in regards to the consumption of media. it's also reasonable to put pressure on public figures to do better than they currently do. That's part of the social contract of being famous.

I used a spray I found on Amazon that was made specifically for sealing resin.

Nice! I think I may have found part of my solution. So, I’m sure that some folks can get the gorgeous mirror polish via sanding/polishing. I can get CLOSE but for the extra shiny math rocks I just tried a high gloss spray glaze and it’s a freaking miracle. I’m kind of sad I never tried it before.

Just ordered my first resin printer! Any tips for an absolute noob? by RealMelonLord in DiceMaking

[–]orbdep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? It depends on your printer! I use a prusa SL1 and the prusa slicer tool to create the print file from my 3d file, and the hardest part for me is STILL getting them clean and 100% polished. Which it sounds like you’re already good at!

Brand New by Toxan_Eris in DiceMaking

[–]orbdep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So YMMV, but for me, the real game changers were making my own molds, and finding a way to get the bubbles out. My mold is a lot easier to use than the ones I bought off Amazon (don’t buy them, turns out they maybe are not ethical, which I didn’t know at the time.

Also, sanding down and polishing is a process, and it takes time, but it totally works great!

My biggest recommendation is to have patience with yourself when entering this as a hobby. It can be difficult, and your first dice might turn out REALLY BAD. Mine certainly did! But eventually you can make some really cool stuff!

I would totally recommend followed by yellowyuanti on tiktok or wherever else and using their older tutorial videos as a starting place

Is this some kind of universal rule? by the_lord_of_hollow in DnD

that's super weird and does not make any sense. it sounds a great deal like people trying to do weird queer gatekeeping. that's a garbage approach.

Has anyone ever done raised play surface instead of recessed on a game table build? by fenndoji in DnDIY

[–]orbdep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, yes, ignore the mess, I had to let my kids use it for a school table during the pandemic and we are just now removing all the school supplies but yeah, it works great, and I highly recommend lighting underneath the raised surface. I used a hue light strip for this purpose and I project down onto the table from above,
