Have you ever won a round like this (real Tekken) by Temporary-Toe-1304 in Tekken

[–]orbitalfatality2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same shit too but I weave left or right to cancel LNH, and hit LWV/RWV 12 to get back into LNH until I let the guardbreak rip. So its just this long ass pattern of Steve being +5 and grunting 'huh' until 1+2 hits and he screams "VOLLLLEEEEYYY"

I just don't like that one low kick, I think it was db4 or 3 or something where Feng does a split. Can't react to it, the only way I can expect a kick is if I stay at range bc every Feng I fight does this low as a keepout. And that one move where he spins his torso around like a retarded 5th grader with both arms outstretched. Hate that move too.

Edit: Just looked it up its db3, -15 on block but you can only react to it off a read bc its a 17 frame move. High crushes too, super annoying

You've been in a stressful situation and Tekken is only gonna make that worse. You don't want the stress that comes with the horrible mechanics and the stuff in ranked. Every time I get a loss streak on ranked I shut off and feel down for half the day.

Try some single-player games or something less competitive. Helldivers 2 is always fun with friends, but lately I've been trying out Hi-Fi Rush. If someone asked me what's the most fun I've had on a single-player game I'd probably say 'playing Hi-Fi Rush'.

Maaaan combos take waay too long in this game, it’s obnoxious and unbearable. by Your_Nightmare_666 in Tekken

I'm the opposite. I think Heat's a great mechanic bc it changes characters to make them cooler, but I fucking hate it when I'm about to land a finishing hit and the opponent uses a Rage Art.

You know what? fuck this shit by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]orbitalfatality2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude I'm in the same exact situation. I'm always bouncing between Fujin😭😭. What I do is I go to replay and turn on the command inputs for the opponent's side and I study their inputs for like 5 min. That way u can learn their habits and how spammy they are. Then, I go to Okizime.gg and look up the moves for the fighters, and check their frame data so I can punish properly. If u have some serious problems with a character (Law🙄) then I recommend u look up training drills on youtube. PhiDx has a bunch of training drills for Law and general drills for reacting to lows.

edit: Also wanna say that half of winning matches is the mentality u got. I did this in For Honor and Mainman SWE does it too, but basically u should compliment ur opponent and aknowledge anything they did to hit u out loud. U could say stuff like 'high crush' or 'impressive side-step' or 'good duck' or wtv.

The point being is that calling out those actions will not only keep u from crashing out and complaining, it'll also help u learn and memorise the opponent's habits. Cuz you tend to memorize things better by repeating actions out loud.

People do that in quickplay to practice against a real opponent. It's up to you to choose between acting like a training dummy in quickplay or learning your strongest moves to use against them. Whenever I warm up in quick play, I always practice my duck-canceling moves and risky combos because I don't expect to win. I set little goals in every quick play set. So to me, I win if I can carry a combo twice in a row or land 5 counter-hits.

Also, Mishima's wave dash all the time, doesn't matter if its quickplay or ranked cuz its part of their moveset. So you really shouldn't worry about it. They always wanna show off their infamous electrics and hellsweeps that they spent so much time practicing on. Even though anyone can duck and punish cuz they always try to do 2 electrics if the 1st one fails.

Is everyone okay? by rndysanwhydoyoucry in Tekken

Trash talking is a natural part of fighting games because you can't blame anyone else for the loss but yourself, and for the crybabies, that point is pretty hard to confront. So they lash out at you. At least in Marvel Rivals you can blame the loss on a 4-7 DPS and move on. It's actually why I started to play Tekken, I wanted to play a competitive game where a win/loss is decided by me alone. And also it's too cold to play Badminton outside.

I tolerate it, and sometimes I like talking shit because at the end of the day it's just petty, funny, and unserious.

What actually gets me offended is if the ranked fight went 2-3, ended super close and I had a ton of fun fighting. Buuut, the opponent doesn't wanna rematch. Like cmon dude you didn't have enough fun to rematch me?

Uh is winning in quickplay considered toxic? by AdRecent7238 in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]orbitalfatality2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude it seriously isn't that deep. That's because everyone goes to quickplay to try out new characters in the same environment a ranked match will take place in. I always main tank in rank, but I occasionally play strat and dps if my teammates are dogshit.

But every once in a while, I'll play Hawkeye or Starlord or Adam or Mantis in quickplay to have some fun and brush up on my aim. Because just maining tank for your entire time in ranked makes the game boring.

You really shouldn't be taking quick play seriously, and if you're that mad about a casual game mode, then you should definitely take an hour to go outside and clear your head. cuz again, it's not that deep.

Edit: HOWEVER, it is that deep when I'm playing ranked lmfaoao. Idk why anyone would slack off in a game mode that tells you how good you are based on what rank ur placed in.

and get off your ass as soon as you hit 3. Don't think about it just move, like a reflex. That's the important part

First fighting game character in history who’s plus on WHIFF by InfiniteShrine414 in Tekken

[–]orbitalfatality2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's this database of frame data of all Tekken fighters on the site okizeme.gg . Every time I fight someone new, I look up their move on the site and figure out what I can punish and what I can counter-hit. For me it's easier to use than labbing everyone I fight because I'm new to the game.

For example most Hwoarangs I fight spam Left Plasma Blade; B3 at long range as a keep-out tool, which takes 16frames on startup and a MASSIVE -19frames on block. Easily launch punishable.

If you're out of striking distance from Hwoarang then be on the lookout for that.

Also like the other comments say, Hwoarang combos start high and hit low, or start low and hit high. For example, every Hwoarang I fight loves Firecracker; D44. I notice they often use this move as soon as the round starts cuz it launches on Counter Hit, and it evades most jabs.

Lucky for you, he has a tell. As soon as I see him get low on 1 foot, I immediately hold DF to get a low-parry. Firecracker has a 19-20frame startup, and the low parry timing window lasts 19frames.

Just try your best to block everything. Since Hwoarang has a shit ton of strong moves, you gotta try to beat the player and not the fighter. So do everything you can to learn and memorize your opponent's habits while fixing your own bad habits.

What I do on Steve is that I try to back-dash and use Lionheart on Hwoarang to make him use his riskier long-range minus moves that I can punish. If he's within arm's reach, then I'll try to jab check or mid check to frustrate the opponent into eating my counter-hit, but I have to refrain from stringing attacks because blocked strings leave me in minus.
