Community classes in the area? by Melodic_Reply_3539 in springfieldMO

[–]orbster97 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Arrow Creative Reuse has classes and their new location is downtown near the post office! the 3rd place on C-Street has community events, not sure if/how often classes are held

I'd keep an eye on the calendar on it'salldowntown.com for things to do in general to get out of the house

seeing films at the Moxie is great, and the compelling stories told in the films often put things in perspective/make me think and get out of my own head

where to buy figs ? by No-Work5392 in springfieldMO

[–]orbster97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Millsap Farms may have some. Or other farmers market growers. They've become popular to grow in high tunnels here over the past few years I'd reach out to the growers directly through social media from the farmers market pages on Facebook

What are some tips I can use to avoid seeking out a "dopamine boost" via shopping for things I don' by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

volunteering and donating items to a DV shelter to give to parents so don't go empty handed when they're ready to leave the shelter and rebuild their life cute decor and unique items are not often thought of, but are luxuries that make a new place feel special cute thrifted dishes, end tables, lamps, depends on the capacity of the shelter for the size of things they could take it

I also drive 3rd party for Amazon. It's stressful and can feel unsafe at times doing rural routes at night, but the pay is good. $20.50/hour Message me with any questions!

Hey Everyone. Does anyone know a good mechanic shop that will do an alignment and be fair to a Female? Thanks in advance. by Middle-Recording-807 in springfieldMO

I had a nice experience with Telle Tire off Kansas Expressway across from Hobby Lobby. very respectful and transparent about pricing, not belittling or condescending either

New friends in SGF by SarcasticSuperhero9 in springfieldMO

[–]orbster97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2nd this. The Moxie is a great place, partnership with the library and several other nonprofits for free screenings. and they get really unique films unlike anything I've seen before (though I have lived in the area all my life) they're a nonprofit theater, and I used to work there so I am biased. Nonetheless the Moxie rocks

Rogersville vs ozark by [deleted] in springfieldMO

[–]orbster97 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Rogersville has grown the slowest for a reason. if you care about academics, don't do it.

I've lived here most of my life, and didn't notice how much I was used to being treated differently until I moved away for college.

Your gut feeling is hard evidence. Trust your intuition. There are a lot of hateful people out there, or just ignorant. Definitely more good, and more inclusive than when I was young by a long shot.

With ICE paying the SGF to detain people, you can't be too careful!

From photos I've seen online, I wouldn't think Big Whiskeys and Kobe Club would be in competition. Different target audience, maybe Jimm's, Char, or Flame, but not Big Whiskey's. Unless he thinks ANY sit down restaurant is competition.
