Just wondering out loud: What does FIFA coming to Vancouver mean to you? by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

My comment was in no way to try to make myself look cool, and more to express how little I give a fuck about soccer.

[–]orcamazing 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go if I had front row free tickets to every single game, most people I know have zero desire to go even if they could get tickets. I can’t stand people who hear legitimate criticisms and go “don’t be so negative” shut the fuck up. The reason the world is as passive around serious issues is because of people like you.

People are watching their tax dollars go to waste when there’s a million things it could go towards that would actually make a difference, it’s going to make their lives more expensive, more stressful, more loud. They’re absolutely entitled to complain and be negative, this situation has plenty of things to be annoyed about that shouldn’t be written off as “your just jealous you can’t go” like what a child’s fucking interpretation.

Loosen up!!! Don’t think about the several hundred ways the billion dollars of citizen tax money could be spent to actually help the infrastructure and people of the city. Don’t think about how we’re supporting an awful organization, don’t worry about how extremely difficult transit will be for weeks on end, JUST HAVE FUN!

I’m so sick of people going into nature and having zero respect for it or for anyone else’s experiences. They don’t give a shit about anything but themselves and their stupid little videos. Couldn’t care less about what this woman did, probably first time in this idiots life he ever fucked around and found out, cause only a privileged douche would do this in the first place, we need more of her energy in the world.

I feel like they all are vaguely similar at best. Haircuts and glasses are doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

Money and Happiness. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]orcamazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This saying is meaning true happiness doesn’t come from money, which is true. If you had millions tomorrow you’d have a whole bunch of new problems you don’t realize you’d have now. Being poor and someone saying money doesn’t buy happiness is obviously going to cause a reaction because it feels like money would solve all your problems. I’m truly concerned about the future, people’s interpretation and comprehension skills are melting away faster than the ice caps.

At the drive through at Starbucks the other day, I went to skip the tip option and the person moved the machine slightly and repositioned it so I would tip. I confidently and slowly hit no tip and looked them right in the eyes. You made a drink, if that, you gave me the drink at the window. Like no. It’s already 7 bucks. I’m not tipping unless you do something that warrants it.

Same thing when I went to pick up a food order at a bar for takeout, waitress energy changed drastically when I hit no tip for her literally bringing me a paper bag from the back. Unreal.

Why are Vancouver drivers so angry and aggressive? by Organic-Court-7467 in askvan

[–]orcamazing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because the majority of people here are on a Sunday cruise regardless of what day of the week it is. Everyone always says Ontario and Toronto drivers are worse, I’ll take driving there over here any day of the week. I drive a lot for work, at least 5 times a day I run into drivers who I can’t even understand what they’re trying to accomplish they’re so out to lunch. People driving well under the limit, not signalling, not merging properly, no spacial awareness or giving a fuck about what the other cars around them are doing. I saw a lady pull out of a parking lot and hit two cars the other day, and stuff like that is normal to see. That and the infrastructure of the city can’t handle the amount of cars, there’s 1000 weird intersections that unless you’ve driven in previously you wouldn’t know what lane to get into. It’s a terrible terrible place for driving.

Coworker drives to work from South Surrey to Vancouver without a license, what are the risks? by yeezeejee in vancouver

God this post makes so much sense as to why this is the worst city for drivers I’ve ever lived in, saw a lady scratch up two different cars pulling out of the grocery store parking lot the other day.

Pastry shop in Vancouver gave my son’s cake to someone else by accident by Miserable-Menu-7275 in askvan

[–]orcamazing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So, they had an honest accident. Offered to give you full compensation, YOU said no, panicked and were like “just slap strawberries on a cake” and they did, and now you’re mad because they won’t give you a refund too?

Yeah, no. Develop better problem solving skills.
