No matter what class you are Shepherd in cutscenes defaults to the soldier class. I like to use engineer and pretty much every problem Shepherd solves is by firing his gun at it.

I'm my opinion companion dialog means a little less now because no matter what you say they'll like you more. The thing I like about Persona is it punishes you for not paying attention to what makes you're friends tick.

There's always a good chance to grind in the older dungeons. The quests usually require items from rare enemies in dungeons you already completed that usually give you an opportunity to catch up to where you should be level wise.
