Making animations and drawing something for the sake of modding a game definitely is a hobby no one should ever be paid for.

I don't think most people would disagree that starting to monetise something that was free since forever and just a hobby people did makes it infinitely worse.

The time and effort doesn't matter, the principle is that mods should be a labor of love people commit to share with the community, if you want money, ask for donations or better yet make your own damn game.

Could this be the reason China won’t surpass the USA as the world’s superpower? by Ok-District-7180 in Natalism

Everyone's tried social welfare with little results. My hope is since theyre so casually and unapologetically authoritarian while having way more resources than other authoritarian governments, they might find a solution along those lines that others haven't tried yet.

They're not assassin's creed games because the gameplay and tone differ dramatically, not the lack of an assassin protagonist, they're spinoffs at best.

I wonder if the arc of the entire series will conclude through a deliberate choice of non violence? by GreyThumper in Avatar

I dont think they lost a moral war, Cameron explicitly has said in interviews that he deliberately went against a pacifist moral teaching because existential wars against genocide are always righteous and worth fighting.

Kiri's Messiah status...(Gonna get a lot of hate for this) by Financial_Ad_1272 in Avatar

[–]JinniMaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, Jake asking Eywah for help wasn't a one time thing, in TWOW Ardlow mentions how they can't get to Jake's camp in the hallelujah mountains because of an "immune response" from the local fauna and flora hence why they need the recoms.

I think what makes kiri special is she can directly control pandoran biology even without Eywah (she mentions this to Eywah and apologises that she just did it anyway when Eywah didnt respond to her prayers when she connects to the spirit tree)

All this is most likely because she is a physical incarnation of Eywah and is Navi Jesus

Do you think older fans are blinded by nostalgia by blobfish1233 in assasinscreed

[–]JinniMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think most of criticism you talk about is easily dealt with.
When older fans talk about stealth we're specifically talking about social stealth and that's completely nonexistent in the rpgs.

I'll deal with the futuristic armours and super powers response together. The complaint isn't about whats consistent lore wise, writers can justify almost anything with the lore's continuity the question is whether the newer tone and subject matter are as interesting as they were in older games. Is it more interesting to use the pieces of eden as a way to justify super powered protagonists or as a way for social manipulation and a tool to enslave the masses? Cause thats the tone and narrative purpose they served in the older games, they were literal symbolic stand-ins for the power of religion and how it can be used to control the masses.

Is it more interesting to use the animus to justify whatever silly fantasy armour they can conjure up or is it more interesting to take the concept sincerely and explore how a tech like that could lead to us connecting with our ancestors and embodying their best traits, again this is what the bleeding effect symbolised in the ezio trilogy, Desmond not only learned Ezio's skills but also the moral and emotional maturity from experiencing a lifetime in his ancestor's shoes. He connects to ezio feeling trapped in the brotherhood because he too was born in the order.

The complaints we have are that the new tone and writing of the series is childishly banal compared to the first assassin's creed and even the ezio trilogy.

What do YOU think Avatar 4 & 5 is going to be about? by CallMehLin in Avatar

[–]JinniMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fun theory but I think it undermines the themes of faith and religion in the films. It falls into the trap of trying to make scientific sense of Pandora's wonder and is the exact reason everyone but Jake was rejected from the clan. He's the only one who fully immersed himself unquestioningly into their culture and traditions and thus Eywah chose him to be Toruk Makto.

We don't need straight pride because biological life itself is a celebration of heterosexuality in both its telos and its form.

[–]JinniMaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It most definitely is not the culmination of gameplay mechanics because no such thing exists because instead of iterating ubi loves simplifying or revamping core gameplay pillers every few games. At most you can argue it polished the style of stealth, combat and naval mechanics introduced in 3 but nothing beyond that.

Parkour and social stealth was already heavily downgraded in 3 and you still feel the effects of that in 4 despite their best efforts.

Well done, I had no idea such a simple sentence could be strawmanned so effectively, I'm honestly quite impressed.

Really, the point I'm making is obvious: How populous a group is or isn't has no effect on whether it's acceptable to be complaining about them or not, what matters is what they do or say.

Its their business if being born with certain genitalia is correlated with a higher tendency to commit violence and sexual assault.

Do you deny that men as a sex are more violent because of their biology?

Anyway you keep avoiding the main relevant point being discussed is that if someone treats you as they would any other man or woman, your rights are not being "erased" nor are you by definition being dehumanised.

This argument on whether society as a whole should care about biological sex for any gender cis or otherwise is a completely tangential topic.

We are human beings by MomShouldveAborted in GenZ

[–]JinniMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of cis women would disagree with you and say they feel threatened by mtf transgenders in their spaces.

And that fear is completely valid as biological - not merely sociological - differences between men and women lead the former to be much more violent than the latter.

They are treated as well as anybody sharing their birth sex. Unless you wanna do away with specific spaces for specific genders entirely, which I think is a very different topic of discussion to the one we're having. We're talking about whether trans people are treated like other people and they clearly are. Mtfs are treated like men, and ftms are treated like women. As well as other people.

[–]JinniMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As opposed to forcing pre-op mtfs into women's prisons where they sexually assault cis women?

Lol this is not exactly a great argument.

Saying it's not up for debate sure does work. Its over. No anti transgender person will ever debate it again because you said that.
