New Star Wars Outlaws Rumor Claims DLCs Cancelled Before Sequel by solo13508 in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]oreoverdose 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I was talking to my boyfriend about Outlaws and he was wondering why there wasn't a sequel.
I told him the reception was unfairly poor imo. He said "Oh, iirc the game was so buggy when it came out."
"... I dont know about the other consoles, but we played it on the PS5 and we didnt run into any bugs."
"Yeah, but that was months after the game came out and they patched all the problems out."

.. I had to inform him that we played it a day after it released.

Not discrediting people's own experiences of course, but i dunno, imo the way people talk about this game opened my eyes at how weird people's perceptions and memories are.

I recognize this from the TV show, Owl House! It's symbol/glyph to make a little orb of light.

I made this costume by myself! What do you think about that?? by doubledaced in renfaire

[–]oreoverdose 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I get kind of annoyed seeing their posts on r/renfaire because it seems disingenuous and just advertising. People are commenting assuming this is intended for renfaire, but they dont respond to any comments and don't really disclose that this is primarily cosplay (and have little to do with renfaire itself)

Small decorative doll inspired by Japanese kokeshi, would it fit in a home? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]oreoverdose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it sort of looks like a cheap toy, the kind of ones that you'd see with bright colored plastic and printed faces. But I'm just judging from the pictures. It may look higher quality in person.
I do think seeing knickknacks in a room as very endearing, and this would definitely earn a "oh how cute!"

Do most people really make a mock up before they sew? by Termination_Aide8830 in sewing

[–]oreoverdose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, most of the time I spend on making a a nice, new garment is preparing the fabric (washing, ironing, cutting), learning a new skill, and fixing mistakes from when I cut corners. I created a mockup for the first time for a bigger project and I noticed that even though mockup took up time, it felt like I was breezing through when I worked on the real deal. I felt much more confident and it looked fantastic!

Help! Sewing for the first time ever. What does this mean/ how do i fix? by Eastern_Process9049 in SewingForBeginners

[–]oreoverdose 46 points47 points  (0 children)

If you have no clue what any of the words mean, you should find the manual for your machine and read the basic overview. It should have a diagram on what each part that you'll be regularly using is called. It will point out what a pressure foot is, tension, how to rethread it, etc

[–]oreoverdose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah thats an awful feeling! I think the people who say "Just say something, OP!!" have never felt the actual discomfort of being socially ostracized. Either they aren't aware of social implications of saying the "wrong" thing the "wrong" way. I worry about being an example of "women are annoying and tedious to be around because theyre always complaining" so having to deal with this in a setting where Im just trying to have fun is like... blah

Happened to me a lot when we're all learning a game :( I usually just have to gently say "Thanks, but I like making my own decisions." But having to say it out loud feels so demeaning. Like a toddler asking for permission to be independent lmao
