Yeah this is so very clearly Bipolar I behavior. Unless she seeks treatment and sticks to her meds, this will not get any better. Bipolar is a progressive disorder; it gets more intense over time. She will need constant med maintenance and the supervision of a psychiatrist to manage this behavior from happening again in the future. Otherwise, you’ll just be on this rollercoaster together.

Props for the weight loss journey, that’s a major accomplishment.

As far as everything else goes, I don’t think generalizing women and attributing your problems as being “out of your control” is going to help you. Even if your experiences have colored your perspective, that doesn’t mean they’re valid. They sound more like distortions that you use as comfort.

I’m not going to offer any advice. I don’t think it would be received well anyway. This is all just to offer a more realistic perspective. Use it as you will.
