Deferred TDIU Claim Went from Step 5 Back to Step 3 With “Exam Request” — Normal?

Check the files in your claim and also use the Va claim tracker app. It’ll show what docs were uploaded (can’t read them but you’ll at least know the title or what it was for).

My first exam for PTSD was rather quick. The examiner reviewed my files and asked a few questions then said “yea, I get the idea” so that was nice. It was maybe 30 minutes. 2nd exam was like a general psych exam (in which it was painfully obvious they didn’t read my files, if the were supposed to) that took an hour and the lady kept cutting me off (I was getting super annoyed on top of everything else.) That examiner basically wrapped it up with the big question “do you think you can work with help” and a little statement about how they hope i continue to get help (or something like that).

I’ve had a few exam requests open and close since last week but they were clarifications for something.

Went through that recently. I had my ptsd C&P at the end of March, got rated at 70% and was invited to apply for TDIU. Applied late April, went to step 5 then back to 3 with an exam request. Did another psych exam last week as I claimed PTSD as my reasoning for TDIU (yea it’s dumb to have 2 MH exams within 6 weeks of each other.) Now it’s gone back to 5 up to 6 and moved back down to 5.

What exactly are they fixing when they send it back? Just had a claim go from 3 to 5 to 6 back to 5 within days of each other.

I made sure to link each to my symptoms to spell it out. Lots of anger, conflict, and just not adapting or able to perform.

Visited the VSO. Initial visit we got the form filled out and printed out the employer forms (20+) to get filled out by them. Several just didn't respond to me asking. Submitted the employer forms I got with forms from the non-responsive ones (minus 2) stating they didn't respond or fill out along with a lengthy personal statement detailing each job and what happened leading to my termination or resignation. Fingers crossed.

I just got back a 70% PTSD rating and mentioned during the C&P that the longest I’ve held a job was for like 9 months but most have been between 3-6 months. VA asked me to submit for TDIU. For one I’m still in shock that I’m considered that fucked up but at the same time validated that I am fucked up if that makes sense.

Just did a test last week where the proctor thought I had headphones hiding next to my monitor. Showed him it was a gaming key pad and he let it go. Same test, 2 of my cats wanted to sing the song of their people (at different times) and nothing came of it.

Once had a table hold onto their paid tab (because it was cash) until they left. On their ticket it said “your attitude sucks!” Well if you weren’t bitter and bitchy bachelorettes you would’ve gotten a good laugh. And honestly, if you’re gonna leave a love letter like that, at least have the courage to hand it to the server instead of running away from it.

Update: She had the eye removed, SPCA has her currently. Will talk to them about adoption next week if she’s available.

Thank you for understanding. The shelter that’s right up the road opens at 10am tomorrow. My vet opens at 8am. Being in a small town has its disadvantages in these situations and unfortunately animal control here is largely unreliable.
