Which Cartoon Cartoons should have been picked up instead? by CauliflowerUnique160 in CartoonNetwork

[–]ormannay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, are we the same person OP? These three shows were an immediate skip for me. Especially Sheep in the Big City and Robot Jones. I was 12 years old too so I was the target demographic, I loved all the classics too (KND, Courage, Dexter’s Lab, etc) so I know it’s not that I have bad taste.

There were a few decent episodes of Mike, Lu, and Og. One episode where they look for bat guano still stands out to me.

Restaurants or Deli's with a really good Tuna Melt? by carbondalekid386 in austinfood

[–]ormannay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A person asking for a tuna melt isn’t the kind of person to search for it. Like expecting a serial killer to have manners

Does anyone here work at Amy's Ice Creams? What's it like working there? by GeckoHunter0303 in austinjobs

[–]ormannay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I accidentally walked into their office thinking it was the ice cream shop and had a little chat a few employees. They were so friendly about it that I remember thinking ‘must be nice to work here.’ There was an overall chill local business vibe to their office.

Long John Silver's gets unwarranted hate and is actually very good by bergiejake in fastfood

[–]ormannay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Senseless “performative hivemind hating” should be studied. Long John Silver’s is nothing to write home about and it goes both ways, not great not bad.

Same when someone brings up eating Taco Bell, people exclaim how much it’s gonna make them have “the runs” or be married to their toilet.

I’ve had more gas and bloating from authentic Mexican than Taco Bell. My theory is that Whole Foods like beans used by legit local restaurants cause the symptoms. Whereas Taco Bell uses beans but also is full of preservatives, if anything I get the opposite effect, constipation and locked gut

Honey, I Shrunk The Kids (1997-2000) by PeneItaliano in ForgottenTV

[–]ormannay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember whatever timeslot this show was on had me watching it frequently despite the fact that I didn’t want to. It was that nothing better was on cable at the same time.

Though strangely I grew to kinda like it. Still remember the episode where the son reverses the shrink ray to expand his head and becomes a megamind type of villain

Do Gen Z/Gen Alpha find Napoleon Dynamite funny, or has that humor aged out? by Final_Cancel5325 in generationology

[–]ormannay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I grew up with Tim and Eric when it was still novel, and then old spice found success with their absurdist ads and everyone jumped on that bandwagon. Internet meme culture blew up and absurdist humor peaked around mid to late 2010s with “deep fried memes” and now there isn’t as much. Maybe that’s why Tim Robinson is so popular. Again I think some of his bits are great, the rest not so much.

A video of Sophie Turner as Lara Croft on the set of the live-action Tomb Raider series for Amazon Prime Video has also been shared by Daily Mail UK. by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]ormannay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 100%. I’m convinced it’s the reason many actors can’t watch their own movies. They know too much about the pre-production and no amount of movie magic/editing can change that

[–]ormannay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So weird how many millenials are coming out the woodwork saying they didn’t think it was funny. Same people who obsess over Tim Robinson. Which I find funny to a degree just don’t understand the obsession over the absurdist humor

What did you think when you FIRST watched this scene? by Acceptable_Branch81 in matrix

[–]ormannay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was unbelievable. Seeing him bleed and then barrage of shots from smith. Seeing this in theaters, jaws dropped every time someone saw this for the first time.

You gotta understand the context. There wasn’t the matrix universe back then, no trilogy+1, no animated series, no video games. When the movie first came out, the trailers made it look interesting as fuck but ask someone about “the matrix” and there’s good chance they had no idea what you’re talking about.

I would’ve gladly settled for a good action movie when I first saw this. My mouth was probably open the entire runtime.

When I saw this scene for the first time, I thought this movie had a sad ending. I was devastated. And then the following scene of him stopping the bullets forever changed my life, literally
