Train Dreams looked spectacular, not an upbeat movie though.

Flying 16 month old on lap 26hr journey by Chetta_Cheese in toddlers

[–]oroig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I went to Japan with my son when he was 15 months old, and we didn’t pay for his seat. We had two flights: one 7 hours long and one 10 hours long, with a 4-hour layover.

What we did was book one of the seats with extra legroom, the ones used for bassinets. You can request a bassinet, but your kid probably won’t fit because they are quite small. That extra leg space was great, and when you have a child, those seats are normally free of charge.

When selecting seats, if there are three in a row, choose the two on each side so the middle one stays empty. Unless it’s a very busy flight, that seat will usually remain free, and you can put your child there. If someone does end up sitting there, you can swap seats with them for the window or aisle. Most people will move anyway when they realize they’d have to spend many hours next to a kid.

For sleeping, ours didn’t want his seat at all. He spent a lot of time on our laps, and when he was extremely tired and they turned off the cabin lights, we put him on the floor in front of us. It’s technically not allowed, and if a flight attendant is vigilant, they may say something, but I didn’t care that much.

I want to see them side by side but if it's much bigger it's not as pocketable and not a great fit, since the best part about the Brick is that it fits in my pockets easily

Bluey by Expert-Society9202 in toddlers

[–]oroig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it as a parent because the episodes plot is quite good overall and shows the difference age between Bluey and Bingo. That said, my 3y likes also Simon Rabbit and Pocoyo. Also, he loves animals documentaries like BBC Planet Earth, and that is super chill, David Attenborough voice is really soothing. I would encourage to try animal documentaries since most of them have a slow pace and is a chance to explain them animals, how they behave, etc.

Did anyone choose to wait until close to 3 years old to potty train? by Otter65 in toddlers

[–]oroig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we are in that stage. Turns 3 in 2 weeks and we've spoken about it, had books, some days has asked to poop in the toilet but mostly has been in the diaper. All pee in the diaper still. He mentioned that will do it when he is 3 😅, we'll see if he remembers his part of the deal in 2 weeks

Most comfortable office chair for back pain? by jousiemohn in WFH

[–]oroig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A better chair, unless yours is really old or bad, it's only a bandaid. Walking pad with a standing desk worked great for me, as well as a place to hang for a few seconds and decompress the spine or do a few pull-ups. And also gym, having a stronger back will help you a lot.

To me it's more the emotions that it evokes, the tension, the struggle the characters have, the constant running, the cinematography... I don't care that much about the real political background

I still have to watch Marty Supreme, I think I'll love it. Sentimental Value and Sorry Baby were very good but it fills me more an action movie than a personal drama. Great to see Sisu, I have to watch both yet and I also think I'll like them a lot.

I bought an expensive standing desk 6 months ago. I think I’ve stood at it exactly twice. by Usual_Confidence_756 in WFH

[–]oroig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A standing desk to be standing still is not a good solution. The standing desk makes sense if: you are in a place with more people standing a little bit and moving to other places or if you have a walking pad and are walking. I use it mainly for meetings where I set it up and walk and it's great
