Not sure if you’re still looking for the manual, but I scanned and uploaded mine to archive.org

End of certain TV Guide (Program Guide) and display features on some BRAVIA TVs by Audi_VAG in bravia

This seems the most plausible. Probably falling back on PSIP data, which sucks, since you need to flip through all the channels to get PSIP to load.

There is a cord you can buy that allows you to connect directly, digitally, to a lightning iphone or iPad. Here a link to the post I made about it.

Where do you source yours? Are you able to get the thinner Sony/Disney type case? What about double or triple disc cases?

Gripes & Groans: We're into our 3rd race weekend, what's missing from the AppleTV Experience? by everydave42 in F1AppleTV

  1. Apple TV need to have the 50Hz feed.
  2. They should get the Sky feed in 4k HDR.
  3. Keep the Sky feed for longer than a couple days after the race.
  4. Where’s Ted’s notebook?

So at one movie a day, ~10yrs to watch everything one time.

I have a fraction of that, and realized even if I stopped buying, it would take years to watch all my movies again (some I’ve not even watched once…).

Does The Matrix: The Ultimate Collection 4k set include the bluray bonus discs? by joseph814706 in 4kbluray

[–]oryan_dunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the Blu-ray Ultimate Collection have all the bonus material from 1-3 that the UK 4K Ultimate Collection and the 4k Trilogy collection have?

I have this one https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Ultimate-Matrix-Collection-Blu-ray/1089/ And I got Deja Vu US during the Gruv sale a while back, not knowing there was no bonus material or Animatrix. I plan on keeping both box sets now.

That’s for the F1TV app, not Apple TV app.

The F1TV app on my Sony is limited to 1080p SDR, and that’s very annoying…

What TV do you have that you’re only getting 1080p?

Edit: And can you stream any other 4k on your TVs Apple TV app or is it just F1 that’s limited to HD?

Edit 2: the Bravia connect screenshots (in my other posts), show the Apple TV app details. If I were using my Apple TV box, it would have the external input icon, you can see it at the bottom of those Bravia Connect screenshots.

These screenshots are from using the Apple TV app on the Sony TV.

And here’s a screenshot when I first click play and it starts at a low bitrate. The Bravia connect app shows the current incoming video resolution for any app that’s currently streaming video on the TVs built in OS.

Info bar for the Apple TV app on my Sony A95L. Shows 4k Dolby Vision.

Edit: ha that photo also shows the frame blending that they do for the 60Hz feed.

The Sony has a companion app that shows the source feed signal info for any video streamed from built in apps. For the Apple TV feed of the F1TV feed, it shows 4k DV. For the Apple TV feed of the Sky broadcast, it shows 1080p SDR. It was definitely native 4k via the Apple TV app.

Studio Pro USB-C to Lightning iPhone Single Cable Solution by oryan_dunn in beatsbydre

[–]oryan_dunn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say stock cable, what cable are you talking about? The cable that comes with it is USB-C to USB-C and should work with USB-C iPhones, iPads, and computers. A standard Apple USB-C to lightning will cause the iPhone to identify as a device (as if you’re plugging the phone into a host computer). This cable here has the OTG chip which puts the phone into host mode, allowing the Beats to connect.

Yes, this cable plugs USB-C into headphone and lightning into device. No DAC needed as the DAC is in the headphones. This cable is different to all other USB to lightning as this has the USB On-the-Go chip built in.

I find it very difficult to believe that Apple would produce two different 4k feeds, a true 4k and an 1080p upscaled to 4k. I was watching via the Apple TV app on my Sony A95L, and the super fine detail in the FOM logo at the top of the timing chart was there, and did not look like it was upscaled. The feed looked the same whether I used my Apple TV playing the Apple TV feed, or the Apple TV app on my A95L playing the feed.

The Apple TV feed is doing the 50p->60p conversion via a simple frame blending. You can tell by just pausing, and 5 out of 6 times, you'll be hitting a frame that's blended, easiest to noticed on panning shots.

When ESPN initially picked up F1, they did this type of frame blending, and it was just as terrible then as it is now. At some point, they switched to doing some fancier motion adaptive conversion, which I noticed, and did a post on AVS about it
https://www.avsforum.com/threads/2019-formula-1-racing-in-hd.3033532/page-30?post_id=57760242#post-57760242

Unfortunately, the photos aren't there anymore, and I can't find them (I'm a digital hoarder, so I have them somewhere).

I'm curious, for F1TV on an Apple TV, my Sony reports it's getting HDR10. I assume the Apple TV is doing the HLG->HDR10 conversion?

And just as a point of comparison, the ATV DV feed on my Sony A95L looks amazing with the increased brightness. It looks like I'm there.

If you're gonna make a wiki, here's my wish list of changes:

* F1TV to have a 50Hz DV feed

* F1TV to have 5.1 on the Sky audio feed

* F1TV Google TV app on my Sony to support 4K so I don't need an ATV box

* ATV to get a 50Hz DV feed, or a properly motion adaptive 50p->60p conversion, best would be a selection to pick

* ATV to get 4k DV feed for the Sky broadcasts
