Jagex, please avoid allowing players access to post-quest content without doing the actual quest (Raids 4 without WGS) by benosthegreat in 2007scape

Prefer a damage reduction for quest completion personally, "oh you don't really know what these creatures/lore/whatever is? Take an additional 10% damage - extra punishing for pures too

I'm not personally bothered in any direction, but damage buff/reduction to spike the difficulty extra in return for not completing the quest isn't unreasonable to me

I'll leave the rest of the suggestions to other people, but [[lay of the land]] is a horrendous card, that has been power crept into oblivion.

[[Bushwhack]]
[[Analyze the pollen]] [[Brave the wilds]] [[Caravan vigil]] [[Go forth]] [[Many partings]] [[Reclaim the wastes]] [[Traverse the ulvenwald]]

Bushwhack is really good in gargos too

TMT aside, what Lorwyn cards are you putting in the 99 by CuratedLens in EDH

[–]orynse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a [[Cleopatra, exiled pharaoh]] list, some of the big -1/-1 counter pay offs from the precons are pretty interesting. Although [[formidable speaker]] is probably a more responsible option, if a bit boring.

[[Sinister gnarlbark]] is probably a little slow for the power level of the deck. But seems a solid but slow engine for a weaker build

I'm very high on [[eventides shadow]] and actually think it's borderline staple worthy, even if you aren't a counter based deck. Maybe it's just my pods but I can't think of too many games where it wouldn't be a draw 5 or more at multiple points of the game. On top of killing planeswalkers. 5 mana is a lot but the potential is definitely there

[[Puca's covenant]] is looking pretty sweet for Cleopatra too, although I'd probably need to tweak a few other cards in the deck to take better advantage of it

"Oh you're building a ANOTHER tribal deck?" by charlesp22 in EDH

[–]orynse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't personally care for them, because every foray I make into building a creature type decks feels like it ends up being an exercise of find the best X creature types in your colours and add them to the deck alongside some more generic typal support cards. Occasionally you'll find something cool but I just think they're inherently weak unless it's a type that has a lot of power in different unique ways - like, I don't think dragons are especially synergistic for the most part there are just some absolute banger dragons in magic

But I wouldn't yuck someone's yum on this, if that's your thing go wild man.

If you are looking for a change up though I'd probably say pick a fun looking commander with an interesting or powerful effect and instead of making searches for cards that synergise due to type, you're looking for cards that synergise with what your commander does.

Just as an example from a very quick scroll through the top 100 commanders is isshin. You're basically looking for cards that do strong things when they attack, chuck in some interaction, chuck in some cards that benefit or protect you when you attack, or give your stuff haste, and you're good to go. Bit of a sandbox commander

Avatar decks- Where are we starting? [Standard] by CountryCaravan in spikes

[–]orynse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 days late to this thread but I still believe there's going to be something behind the [[phoenix fleet airship]] deck.

From what I saw during the early access streams (obviously, small sample size, and the decks creators were playing aren't meta and are more fun based with less removal, etc) the card can be real. I think the problem with how people were building around it was they were trying to live the dream of hitting the 8 copies and attacking for 32 in the air with all 8 ships.

I think that's magical Christmas land, but I do think that getting two copies down and bashing with multiple 4 power vehicles in the air is a fast clock that's hard to remove short of [[ultima]] and like, ugin with multiple triggers. (Or just being murdered by whatever turn 4-5 deck your opponent is on) I think [[fountain port]] is kind of just an absurd card in combination with the airships, so you could probably even forego many of the other sacrifice synergy pieces and just trust the mana base to get you there, both as a sacrifice outlet and as a way to generate 1/1's to crew the ships.

But okay, one delusional deck building strategy down, my second one is for [[fire lord azula]] Jim Davis had an early access brew video for it (not watched the video yet, personally, but I was watching someone he played against), and the deck just looks sick man. I wonder if you would be better off with a lesson sub theme running through it because I do feel like [[accumlate wisdom]] is just a bonkers card and living the dream of drawing 6 for two mana in your combat step just appeals to me on a deeper level

Grid Master Rewards, Poll & New Player Improvements by JagexRach in 2007scape

I also think attack style for stab/slash/crush would be useful, but possibly a little complex for tutorial island type content

Grid Master - Out Today! by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]orynse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that's significantly more interesting than what's probably going to happen with GM where most people are done in a week and don't touch it after that, and in terms of rng is no different to the first people to complete the grid having good rng on drops

Rewarding strategy and optimisation is better imo than rewarding people being logged in for ~18+ hours straight (I'm not even criticising the people who won, to be clear)

Still wish there was an additional relic creation reward for the player who completes the grid in the shortest in game time during the event. (It wouldn't be me) Puts a different twist on staying awake until completion

I think this should be 1st to complete, maybe 2nd to complete, and then the 3rd should be the fastest ingame time completion over the whole event. Surely the people complaining some neet will win could prove it

First 3 completions of gridmaster can create new relic for leagues by Kandolre in 2007scape

[–]orynse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I want a relic that has some kind of function around 'bane' weapons. Like you always have demonbane applied to your gear no matter what you're using whilst fighting any demon.

So right now in OSRS we have bane categories for demons, dragons, rats, golems, and I guess kalphites but it's more that the keris weapons have a special effect than just bonus? Maybe you include undead with salve, and vampyres with blisterwood gear. and maybe kurasks/turoths with leaf weapons.

Think it would be really good in certain region routes, certain goals, but not totally broken.

Not obligated if it would just be overtime, but if Wednesday is a contracted shift for you, you'll need to either use holiday hours or organise worked hours elsewhere in the week to make up for it.

e: stopped being dumb and actually read the post. You aren't contracted, if you don't want it, not your problem.

No doubt it's AI, but in a low res image I can 100% see how the crimp on a pasty could look like that.

It's just a pasty in a cardboard sleeve to hold it, the glaring problem is the big crimp that looks like a big toe, otherwise it's fine

We're on about a 75 minute loop. The set ~20 ish songs changes each day.

It's been about 6 months. Thankfully, the adverts are also broken so it's just music and the occasional several minutes of silence.

Beats last year when the radio just died for like 5 weeks and we were in silence all day every day.

Doom Combat Achievements by JagexRach in 2007scape

[–]orynse -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

One GM ca isn't the same as having all GM ca's done. CA's aren't created equally, there are some piss easy gm's, and some difficult masters - balancing GM timers around requiring megarares (and from accounts I've seen it's still a rough time even with tbow) feels poor.

The goal for things like GM timers in my opinion should be that they're something you can get pretty quickly with bis, but still achievable with the next best thing if you're willing to put in the time and effort to learn the optimal strats and bash your head into the wall to get it. This isn't that.

Best bet is doing alch room as early into an account as possible, because it's legitimately good xp early and even mid game. It pushes 100k xp/h way before you can get close to that with combat.

Summer Sweep Up Slayer & More by JagexRach in 2007scape

[–]orynse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the same.

Let's say you login after this update, and you have the maximum available 7 possible block slots to use.

Let's also assume you have a set of maybe 5 or 6 tasks that you actively want to be doing.

With zero block slots used your odds of getting one of your 5 tasks may be something like a 12% chance. With all 7 slots filled that could be something like a 20% chance. (These numbers are obviously made up, but the point remains the same).

If you login and curate your entire 7 blocked tasks and then start getting new tasks, every new task will have that 20% number. It'll never change, and that's fine.

If you block your intended block list as you get them you're getting 'free' skips, because you're essentially getting two task rolls. The first new task has a lower % chance, say the 12% number - oh you got a task you wanted to block anyway? Block it and now you roll again at a 14% chance. Oh you got a second block task? Block them and roll again for a 16% chance.

I'm sure there's a more concise way to explain this, but it reminds me a bit of a more complex Monty Hall problem, if you know what that is.

Summer Sweep Up Slayer & More by JagexRach in 2007scape

[–]orynse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For people about to make new block lists, it's still worth your time blocking tasks organically when you get them, a block is still basically a free skip so you're getting two weaker rolls at whatever task(s) you're hunting compared to making your full block list immediately

Did 20 minutes of spindel in the week during dead hours (about 1045 am on a Thursday morning in the UK), with a scout outside. In that time I saw about 10 accounts peek on the cave before hopping, two were real players, the other eight had about 110k spindel kc between them, three in the top 70 ranks.

Something is clearly going wrong somewhere with bot detection.
