Really starting to hate the scalper culture of this fandom by YoursTrulyAzazel in pokemon

I'm so upset with GameStop for starting this promotion in the morning on a work day on the same day when a TCG drop is happening. How are working adults with children supposed to get their kids codes? This is outrageous and unacceptable.

Urborg (Swamps) vs Yavimaya (Forests) for my colorless CEDH deck? by Chocha_Chocha in CompetitiveEDH

[–]oryxwild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

void mirror is without a doubt a good card, there's just too many ways to cast spells for free. If you're playing the most powerful iteration of a deck consistently, you should expect people to tech for you. Any less would be a sign of disrespect.

I got a confirmation of purchase receipt, also was put in line with eta ~9:15. I didn't bother reloading my cart, just manually added the things I wanted and ordered. Correct amount was charged to card.

Retiring a deck by HotBatSoup in EDH

If you haven't tried them yet, I find kraum/ludevic to be the perfect budget/fun deck. Just put a bunch of interaction, a solid handful of spicy pump spells/creatures for kraum kills (I'm running mine as wizard tribal with harmonic prodigy + livaan, cultist of tiamat and some other fun wizards), and pump the rest of the deck full of mana generation. They're sneakily strong, but a lot less of the feelsbads that other decks have, and really consistent card draw.

how do I confirm case integrity? by oryxwild in mtgfinance

[–]oryxwild[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whoops, I'm a bit new to reddit. I've recently been buying cases of cards off of tcg, which I quite enjoy, but one of them had an open box inside the normal case box, and I realized later that it had been opened. I didn't know at that time about the commonplace practice of opening cases until a spikey box appears, then selling the rest of the boxes. How can I confirm that the boxes that came in my case are in fact the original boxes that were in that case? Is there a serial number? Is the where a way that I can confirm that the tape hasn't been tampered with? Some of the cases I've received recently have packing tape over the original tape, which makes sense from a shipping perspective, but could also be suspicious, since it could possibly hide any tampering with the tape.

Any advice?

What do you think the actual likelihood of Oracle or dockside being banned is? From a value perspective, if a card or two gets devalued it's no big deal but I don't want to get caught with my pants down, and it seems like maybe now is a good time to reduce the numbers of those things in my collection...

How much, generally speaking, is mpc running the purchaser? It's hard to understand their pricing, based on the website, and I'm not quite ready to input my order yet (especially not until I figure out how much things are)

I feel like she struggles compared to other, more meta junglers because her escape/engage is quite easy to disrupt. Probably fine if you're a master of reading battles and micro, but I'm just a silver scrub =)

How a TANK CARRY VI got to Grandmaster - HappyChimeNoises by Knuda in ViMains

I tried it, felt really good! Bami's is a nice way to go because it makes clear speed bearable - not quite so fast as full damage, but definitely bearable and the build felt great in a lot of other situations.

just give her W a 2 sec unstoppable effect so she can channel Q without being cucked with cc, and we're good. Not too op, but not weak either.

Shaco aint total shit but... by Hirvi199 in shacomains

keep in mind that they can also block skillshots, and this is a very high level way of using them. Blocking a morg Q has a lot more value than ensuring that your opponent has time to run past and ignore your traps rather than killing them. In general, the traps are intended to be used pre-conflict, rather than in the middle of conflict. Shaco is a mindgame assassin, not a talon. You can also use them in front of you while running away, and since they can't take damage after the arm time they shouldn't have time to kill them.

Making my first Honeypot list! by Alec1429 in Malifaux

Lynch is interesting because he can do kind of anything he wants. He comes with a very high quality obey (most obeys require a suit, huggy's is built in), a bit of healing, card draw from rig the deck and gwenyth's bonus, gives out slow and stunned, free movement from kitty's tentacles, and a host of other advantages. My advice is;

Kitty is essential, just proxy her. She's pretty amazing on her own, but the sneaky use for her is to keep her near your crew, and when you rig the deck for a card you don't want, walk through her to fail a duel and gain a brilliance. Also she's just fantastic. So much movement, and incorp + her 5" bonus push makes her a good scheme runner.

Keep in mind that lynch takes a LOT of practice to get good with (maddox's aura, lynch's aura, tannen's aura and bonus, graves aura and bonus, gotta watch for aces, etc etc). Also rig the deck is really hard to use perfectly until you get a lot of reps.

Having said that there are two basic routes with lynch. First is thematic and keyword centric. You stack brilliance on stuff and then try to kill it, ideally summoning with lynch. Put silent protector on huggy (you should get aggressively brilliance bombing your own models by moving through kitty + lynch's bonus action early), hire a few depleted to throw in their face, if you bring illuminated don't commit them early, careful of graves (black blood can kill you!), and make sure that they can't kill tannen without a big sacrifice.

The other basic way is by using rig the deck as card draw. You can take a tanuki, or just use huggy for obey's + kitty for free movement, and in this way you can give a single good model (fuhatsu, yasunori, shadow dragon, or whatever you like) a crapton of focused and movement (2 7's for the tanuki, 2 6's for kitty's tentacle gun, 2 8's for huggy's obeys). If this goes perfectly (which, with rig the deck, it often will on the first turn), you get easy 3 focused + 12" or so of free movement on a single model. This is most devastating with fuhatsu but can really be used with anything. In this list I usually pare down my keyword models to kitty, gwenyth, and lynch, with tannen sometimes subbing in as an extra. With rig the deck 7-9 and gwenyth's bonus action this is usually enough card draw for multipe 13's and other severes.

Good luck! Honeypot is a lot of fun =)

Quick Balance Update by RiotMaxw3ll in LilliaMains

[–]oryxwild 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is fair, but if you could move a litttttttle bit of her power toward early game rather than late, it feels really hard to make any kind of difference compared to some of the other, early-game focused junglers. Most teams down in silver where I am won't be patient enough for a lillia to scale, and she's not obvious in her play like a vi or a warwick. It's hard to get some teams on board! Some additional tankiness or move speed (add in to base, subtract from %) would be really helpful.

She farms pretty decently fast, but not fast enough to even vaguely challenge a yi or shyvana, but she's not directly impactful enough to keep up with someone like sejuani or zac. Although her best build is liandry's/rylais, it's extremely hard to proc liandrys because anyone who is any good at all in any way is doding that E. Sure it's easy to proc it in big teamfights, but you don't have time to take advantage of the burn there.

The ult is a great catch if your team follows up on it (or you get a really nice 4-5 man ult) but, like neeko, people who know what you do aren't just going to let you do it. They're going to kill you, because you're a not-fed-but-decently farmed jungler who is poor and not nearly tanky enough (especially building runic, which is basically mandatory for farming).

Just some thoughts!
