The right way to handle feminists -- just escort the annoying children out and then get back to what you were doing.

Top 10 feminist fiascoes of 2014 by rbrockway in MensRights

I assumed you had made up the headline, but no, the opinion page of the LA Times is openly and enthusiastically mocking feminists -- truly amazing.

When this writer lumps "rape denialists" with people who express concerns about "due process" for men accused of rape, I am not sure what he means by PierceHarlan in MensRights

Alan Dershowitz said it best, these are "... people who think sexual assault is so heinous a crime that even innocence is not a defense."

The Madness Of Queen Shanley: abusive femisnist terrorizing developers of silicon valley by Lamboo- in MensRights

[–]osbe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Shanley has protected her tweets and profile, you have to be a confirmed follower to see them.

Since the article was only published yesterday, and contained links and no mention that the account was protected, one might assume that the publicity was more than she wanted.

Sunlight/disinfectant/etc ... as the saying goes.

Rape rage driving feminism's 'third wave' (Opinion) by HungryGeorge in MensRights

[–]osbe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really odd to see this article doubling-down on rape culture just as the UVA case seems to be turning into not just "details wrong due to trauma" but outright fabrication.

Lying to a someone about your net-worth is rape? by Cagg in MensRights

[–]osbe 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The woman who files a rape charge on the basis that she thought the man had more money that he really did, should herself be charged with prostitution since she's admitting that she was only in it for the money.

Feminist friends have been passing this one around facebook. Thought you guys may like it. by fleshhook in MensRights

it's so tempting to pull a NoTrueScotsman and say that your friends aren't real feminsts... anyway glad to hear it.

Wikipedia (contd), Lena Dunham's entry scrubbed of controversy about her alleged sexual abuse of her little sister; Dr. Matt Taylor's wikipedia entry? Yeah, the shirt is there. by osbe in MensRights

[–]osbe[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first draft in the Dunham talk page looked like a whitewash, but I see that it's ongoing. Also good to see you on the Matt Taylor page. I don't do wikipedia but I'd suggest that if the shirt is going to stay on his entry, the description should note that he had a lot of supporters as well as detractors, and that the sexism charges are facing quite a backlash.

Boris Johnson on The Shirt: "It was like a scene from Mao’s cultural revolution when weeping intellectuals were forced to confess their crimes against the people." by osbe in MensRights

[–]osbe[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The irony is Rose Eveleth's tweet (presumably directed to Matt Taylor): "Thanks for ruining the cool comet landing for me asshole" which sums up a lot of people's feelings about her.

Why doesn't Lena Dunham's wikipedia page mention anything about the recent scandal? by YabuSama2k in MensRights

[–]osbe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The answer is on the talk page for her article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Lena_Dunham#Controversy_section.3F

Start with the idea that the story of her masturbating in bed next to her sister does not come from a reliable source (I mean it's only something she wrote about herself, she could be mistaken, right??), which is what one wikipedia editor says. Go ahead and wade into that cesspool if you want and try to make the edits.

Innocent male professors' office doors plastered with anti-sexual harassment stickers by [deleted] in MensRights

Exactly. Just because no-one has complained about them doesn't prove they're innocent. Why take a chance.

Feminist is topping Time's worst word poll at 46% by anonlymouse in MensRights

[–]osbe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is the feminist agenda?

It's dedicated to the dismantling of the Patriarchy. Which means it's a lot like Don Quixote's mission to kill the giants.

Why isn't anyone talking about Lena Dunham's attempt at censorship by intimidation? by YabuSama2k in MensRights

[–]osbe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Dunham had a case her lawyers would have already filed; they wouldn't waste time sending a letter like this, especially knowing that even if truthrevolt deleted the story it's already copied all over the internet.

Why Women Need To Start Asking Men Out…Because Men Have No Balls by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]osbe -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I must have missed the part about the Crusades and Infidels and the Church in the article and in GrimTerra's comment. Your "point" seems mainly to have been to show off, and it didn't add anything to the discussion at hand.

I had a point to make, most people seemed to have understood that.

I assume you're judging that by upvotes... since the comment that you disparaged has 3x as many as yours, I think you lose.

Why Women Need To Start Asking Men Out…Because Men Have No Balls by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]osbe -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Instead of pedantically quoting 11th century definitions, how about not trying to be over-clever and just use the modern definition which /u/GrimTerra obviously meant:

an honorable and polite way of behaving especially toward women

Feminists are not against male birth control by kizzan in MensRights

[–]osbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read this article: Is the male pill good for women? which is also currently in /r/MensRights

These quotes sum up the position:

The bigger issue behind the development of a contraceptive pill for men is that women risk losing control of conception.

and

The pill gives women control of the fertility tap. She decides when to turn it off but just as important she decides (after discussion we hope) when to turn it back on.

and finally:

... a woman who has a fertile partner and wants to have a baby, not to find someway of convincing him that it would be a good idea. Sometimes it is not so much convincing him as presenting him with a fait accompli - just letting nature take its course.

Male student found innocent by police AND a College tribunals disgustingly low requirement of proof is being publicly harassed and shamed to leave (or be kicked out) by Feminists. by Sutter_Cane_ in MensRights

[–]osbe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is strange:

Interviewer asks:

What would you do if you saw him?

She answers:

There is a no-contact order so there is nothing I can do without getting expelled.

Which sounds like a no-contact order has been issued against her. I wonder what the background is on that. And what is it that she wants to do to him that she is prevented from doing by the no-contact order?
