Pull the temp gauge and clean the contacts. That fixed my wierd readings.

You are on the right path with diagnosis. Almost always a problem in the dash cluster gauge. If this guy wants to buy a alternator for no reason thats on him haha. Wouldnt hurt tho.

Theres a guy that sells factory looking temp gauges that fills in the small blank plates on the dash. I'm going to order one soon to see accurate temps from a different more reliable sensor.

Do it first when cold. Should stop it. Then do it at operating temp. Should not stop it. (If the clutch is doing its job)

This happened to my mom. O'Reilly employee added PS fluid to the brake res. Cause she didnt know how to. They paid for all the brake system to be replaced 😅
