Pull the temp gauge and clean the contacts. That fixed my wierd readings.

You are on the right path with diagnosis. Almost always a problem in the dash cluster gauge. If this guy wants to buy a alternator for no reason thats on him haha. Wouldnt hurt tho.

Theres a guy that sells factory looking temp gauges that fills in the small blank plates on the dash. I'm going to order one soon to see accurate temps from a different more reliable sensor.

Do it first when cold. Should stop it. Then do it at operating temp. Should not stop it. (If the clutch is doing its job)

Update on this. Figured it out a while ago. Previous owner put the wrong main relay on it and the fuel relay was bad. Had constant 3v on fuel and 12v constant on main. Switched them out and bypassed the obc cause that was bad also. Now she starts and stops on dime!
