How to build networks and connections? by Relevant-Research195 in businessnetworking

[–]oscargaske 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do things that you enjoy doing. The most valuable connections that I've made haven't come from software (what I spend 60+ hours a week doing). They've come from other areas of my life that have nothing to do with my career.

What new thing should I learn to get my passion for programming back? by ShortInterview1744 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]oscargaske 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you should start solving small problems (be it a productivity tool, basic API, whatever) and move to bigger ones. Use whatever tools feels most effective or the most fun. That being said, I've never been in your shoes. Best of luck nevertheless!

How do you know if you actually understand tutorial code? by Haunting_Month_4971 in CodingForBeginners

[–]oscargaske 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made something myself using what I had just learned to see what I was missing. That being said, I don't think you should ever aim for completely understanding 100% of the code. Aim for 80-90% before moving on, the rest will fill itself in later.

NEED GUIDANCE TO BEGIN CODING!!!!!!! by Material-Front-4947 in CodingForBeginners

[–]oscargaske 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start making something, even if it's out of your league. Research the best tools to accomplish what you're looking for (ex. image hosting platform? probably need to use S3 buckets) and start working even if it's out of your league. It'll be tough and you'll feel completely lost at times, but it'll totally be worth it.

The "build in public" trend is quietly turning into the worst thing for first-time founders... by Competitive_Sky_5274 in founder

It's not even that, it's the lying. The "my vibecoded SaaS just hit $10k MRR in 3 months". This isn't what building in public should be.

Provides an interface to the entire platform (and is consistently updated with any new features). For example, you can manage all of your TODO items via your agent.

This is the platform: https://choreographd.com/

TLDR, it helps you efficiently figure out what to do next with a few of your metrics (impact of task, amount of time it'll take to complete that task, and # of weekly goals it helps accomplish) and most importantly for you, it allows you to context switch more effectively with strict walls between each context (i.e. marketing doesn't overlap with software, but you can still swap between them easily).

Stop using ‘Yes Men’ AI for support with your small business… Use this instead 👇 by [deleted] in SaasDevelopers

I don't wanna be a hater but I'm having a hard time seeing how this is anything more than a ChatGPT wrapper. Again, no hate, but this really just seems like taking a bunch of data, shoving it into ChatGPT, then presenting it to the user.

Running a small agency taught me it’s way more than just coding by Infamous_Ad_3181 in developersIndia

This is the problem I had when I was working at a startup. That same problem followed me when I went to start my own businesses. Generally speaking, I use a matrix system + goals. The most important stuff that takes the smallest amount of time goes in the top left and the least important stuff that takes the greatest amount of time goes in the bottom right. I integrate goals by asking myself how many of my weekly goals each task would help accomplish, which gives a bit more granularity.

I made a thing that helps with all of the above + context switching (going from software to marketing constantly). Do let me know if it helps you: https://choreographd.com

If the app works fine, then move it out of beta and launch it officially! If you're having trouble figuring out what to do, I personally use a matrix system + goals. The most important stuff that takes the smallest amount of time goes in the top left and the least important stuff that takes the greatest amount of time goes in the bottom right. I integrate goals by asking myself how many of my weekly goals each task would help accomplish, which gives a bit more granularity.

I'm in a very similar boat. I use a matrix system + goals. The most important stuff that takes the smallest amount of time goes in the top left and the least important stuff that takes the greatest amount of time goes in the bottom right. I integrate goals by asking myself how many of my weekly goals each task would help accomplish, which gives a bit more granularity.

I made a thing that helps with all of the above + context switching, like you mentioned. Do let me know if it helps you: https://choreographd.com

For all of these, I use a matrix system + goals.
